Is this a deal or what ....
If you like beets, and find them on sale, then by all means buy them and enjoy. If you don't like beets, however, even a price of one cent is too high.
cones or sorbothane or both?
In my humble opinion, the best, easiest, and not necessarily most expensive, is Zoethecus. No need to fuss with cones, blobs, etc. A really well engineered rack should be all you need, and I think Zoethecus fits the bill.
Please help me with a Cary Audio tube question
If you want a KT-90 amp, then why not sell the CAD-40M Signatures and buy the design that you really are after? You'll probably spend less money, and end up with a better result. I can understand your desire to move away from those tubby EL34's. Th...

Cable connections to an old receiver?
Those are pin terminals, and they're really awful. I'd remove all of them and install a set of five-way binding posts.
Have you gone hi-rez? Which format and why?
Sounds like you need a Sony SCD-1. You'll never look back and wonder if it was the right choice. Both "redbook" CD and SACD playback are up to par with the big boys.Although the $5k retail price might be a shock, not to worry because they sell for...
Question for SCD-1 Owners
I have an SCD-1 and absolutely LOVE it! I wondered about the sound myself, but I guess this confirms that it is normal mechanical noise, as the "sled" moves the disc into position under the fixed pickup.
Best speaker wiring
I wouldn't get too caught up in all the cable hullaballoo. To keep it simple, I'd suggest a set of the WBT power bridges to link the high and low binding posts, and then run a pair of "single-wired" (one pair of connectors on each end) cables. I p...

I have an MA-6900 and LOVE it! It has pre-out / amp-in jacks, so flexibility should be no problem. The unit is supplied with McIntosh jumpers for use as an integrated.
Tweaks for a Musical Fidelity X10-D tube buffer?
I'd suggest the latest and greatest from Pioneer: http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/Pioneer/CDA/HomeProducts/HomeProductDetails/0,1422,2092,00.htmlIf you sell all of the aforementioned gear (including the Cary), and if you shop carefully, this is ...
Is there a cable that can warm up my sound?
Sell it all and buy a Sony SCD-1.
Tweaks for a Musical Fidelity X10-D tube buffer?
You'd be MUCH better off selling the 7700, Sigma II, and the X10-D. Then buy a higher quality one box unit.
