A ridiculously cheap cable riser.
My wife was really impressed when I made mine out of toilet paper rolls! I was sent to the woodshop abruptly and told not to return unless I had replacements. Took me a week to build emm.
Adding a Dac and Stresmer
If you don't mind the used market, you can't go wrong with the naim ndx streamer dac combo for under 2 grand. Has a nice app for android too. Pretty versatile and easy to use.
Dac: Old vs New
Perhaps go to the used market, for the $500 range you'll have a lot of options.  Personally I preferred the smsl m400 over the denafrips aries. It's still in the second system. The m400 has some warmth and good control on bass. Good sparkle and de...

An interesting experience with power cable.
That sounds about right. Wait till you have 4 different one's and you have to try all combo's, ouch. Had the same experience with power conditioners, if anything the amp sounds worse, but everything upstream sounds better. A great step up for my a...
