PS Audio PPP vs. Velocitor vs. BPT 3.5
Danyal - All three listed, having their own "flavor" are very good options. Much will depend on the sound flavor you are attempting to dial-in (in fact, the Velocitor and BPT units are rather much sonic opposites). Having owned and enjoyed each, (...
Cayin A-88t vs. Almarro A318B
I had the 318B and AZ Adagios - as long as your room is not huge, your CD player has "normal" output or you don't only listen to techno, house, hip-hop or "11-volume level" metal ... you may be very pleased by this combo. It excelled in a natural,...
Golden Dragon Interconnects Trial
Agreed ... I have been using a couple pairs in my system to wonderful effect. My long-time references have been the Stealth Indras (and I have not tried the new Synergistics Tesla series.)For me, (and a couple others with whom I have spoken) they ...
Stealth Metacarbon Cables: Anyone ever hear them.
Teajay,One quick note in that I must agree with Bill ... the similarities in the cables are much greater than any differences. They can be heard, but I do believe it would take a very resolute system to hear the relatively subtle differences.I wil...
Stealth Metacarbon Cables: Anyone ever hear them.
Teajay,I have two pairs of Indras and one pair of the MetaCarbons.I have said many times that if I had not heard the Indras, I would have had no complaints with the MetaCarbons. It is silly to even attempt to guess, but the MetaCarbon is probably ...

Vicks7,J&R has an excellent selection of CDs and a decent supply of SACDs ... at some of the best "New" prices in NYC. Virgin also has a very good selection, but at higher prices.Kim's on St. Marks has one of the better selection of "Out" and ...
Any real improvement w/ Gallo Ref 3.1s?
MsrattyNot meant to offend, but a cap change in a crossover can have a pretty significant effect on the sonic signature.Interestingly, I just found this write-up by Srajan Ebaen at 6Moons that may be the first comparison between the older Ref3 ver...
Any real improvement w/ Gallo Ref 3.1s?
It seems perhaps that the biggest "difference" may come from the cap change in the crossover??Otherwise, those were my exact thoughts relative the changes to the speaker.
DROPLET CD player - Best aftermarket power cable?
I have a Michael Wolff Silver Carbon Source cord with Arcrolink carbon palladium over gold connectors on mine.It is very musical, detailed (as much as the Droplet conveys), with great balance accross the frequency spectrum. I offered an excellent ...
Review: Michael Wolff Audio VIOLA Power cord
Grant,I finally acquired the rest of the Violas ... I now have one each on both of my CIA amps, my Gallo sub amp and the Power Wing.I must say that the effect is definitely cumulative ... the dynamics, clarity, depth, speed and articulation of the...
Review: Michael Wolff Audio VIOLA Power cord
Hi Tvad,You are most welcome.Yes, that is correct ... the primary comparison above was done on the Power Wing w/ all the gear plugged into the wing. I have a mix of direct gold and palladium over gold outlets on the Wing into which my system had b...

Best speaker and placement for loft?
Piqued by Andre's comment, I can attest to the joy of good horns in a loft. I had Edgarhorns and Bruce's refridgerator-sized, Seismic sub when in a 2000 sq ft loft w/ 14 ft ceilings in Chicago. It was really wonderful. The space allowed the speake...
Hallelujah by Lenard Cohen
Thanks very much BenI always loved Cohen's version ... of which, including some bootlegs, there are now many ... and found it interesting to compare and contrast. It was then the Buckley version that captivated me ... until I heard the version (Cal...
Hallelujah by Lenard Cohen
Since we are so off the original topic ... one more great male version:Rufus Wainwright - It appears in both the first "THE L WORD" "soundtrack" cd and the "SHREK" soundtrack Interestingly enough, ALL MUSIC GUIDE suggested that John Cale's version...
