is there a market?
Actually the Sasha Cooke "If You Love for Beauty" is with a full orchestra, in this case the orchestra from the Colburn Conservatory which is one way of getting quality players at a reasonable price I presume
Synergistic Research Atmosphere Power Cords.
All the SR components I own are marked made in the USA, not that it matters one iota
is there a market?
Arguably the closest to this sort of thing these days are folks like Yarlung who are recording and issuing on analog tape, selling at $200 per reel
Synergistic Research Atmosphere Power Cords.
Just had a chance to try the L3 Atmosphere on my SR Transporter replacing the Element Tungsten (silver bullets, powered by the transporter) that I had in place -- the transporter itself recently gained 3 black fuses which was a nice upgradeAt firs...
Synergistic Research Atmosphere Power Cords.
Ok, up until the latest generation of cables (the Atmosphere series) all SR cables have a seperate active shield that requires its own power supply. As standard the cables come with a simple "wall wart" power supply called an MPC (Master Power Cou...
Synergistic Research Atmosphere Power Cords.
My advice would be to buy used and purchase the best of the prior Element series you can afford. The benefit of this would be that you can then further tweak by adjusting the tuning bullets, investing in better power for the active shielding (Gali...
Tonearm mount on the plinth or on Pillar ?
On the topic of quakes it's not just earth movement from quakes but also the rumbles and vibration of passing vehicles as well. Where I live in an urban setting I have a soundproofed room but can still feel big trucks passing as the whole building...
Should I upgrade my phono linestage first or the tonearm for better results?
Off your main question but if you really have money burning a hole in your pocket you should invest in some proper power cords ( you didn't list any power products)personally I like Synergistic Research but there are lots of good options out there...
Should I upgrade my phono linestage first or the tonearm for better results?
Sure there are diminishing returns but in the context of a six figure system and if you can afford a $10K cart then the Phantom could take it! I’m surely not recommending it as a next step and I’d assume you have upgraded the phono stage commensur...
Should I upgrade my phono linestage first or the tonearm for better results?
Ok so seems you like the Graham line in which case going to the Phantom is probably the way to go. I'd think that $3.5K on the phono side does not get you to the ARC PH8 or Tom Evans Audio Groove + (to quote two great choices on the 'Gon both in t...
Should I upgrade my phono linestage first or the tonearm for better results?
OK. Thanks. My opinion is that you should save your $ and wait until you can commit more money to a substantially major upgrade. The Teres can take whatever arm/cartridge combo you throw at it and $2.5K would not (in my opinion) get you a real upg...
Should I upgrade my phono linestage first or the tonearm for better results?
And on what turntable is this arm mounted? Thanks
Old friend looking for acoustic folk inspired music
Lp2Cd -- so dismissing everything Ani DiFranco ever did would also cover "Fellow Workers"? Presumably an album that meets your definition of folk - songs from the movement for social justice and labour rights would certainly fit strongly in anyone...
Michell Gyro SE + SME IV upgrade path
Exactly -- the Gyro needs an arm that has the same "swing" -- which is not the SMEs strength. Adding the Orbe upgrades and the HR will help with the stability and blackness you are looking for but you will still be stuck with the coloration in the...
Michell Gyro SE + SME IV upgrade path
Congrats on your nice system and happy to chime in with my suggestions on ways forward. As a prior owner of both the Gyro and the SME IV I’ve been in exactly your position. I actually changed my Gyro for a first generation Orbe and then added the ...
