New Bel Canto Gear at RMAF
If you want more information on what John Stronczer has done with the new amps, watch the following video. He starts off by explaining how the S500 is designed, then goes on to explain the REF500 and REF1000MkII monoblocks:http://uk.cinenow.com/vi...
Dac's? anyone tried the new Cambridge Dacmagic-B
They are brand new and we haven't received our pre-order shipment yet from our distributor. It sounds very interesting for sure. What HiFi? really liked it, but I don't put a whole lot of stock into reviews. But here it is anyways:http://whathifi....

Best recorded rock album.Amused to Death.R.Waters?
The "Amused to Death" Gold 20 bit Super Bit Mapping CD is even better than the normal CD, if you can find it.
Brandi Carlile
The recording isn't bad at all. IMHO, it's definitely better than the average pop/rock recording out there. If you want bad, listen to some U2, Aerosmith, or some of the incredibly compressed and fatiguing recordings such as Sarah Brightman's late...
My speakers don't "dissapear"
At one point, I ran the Krell 400xi, Krell SACD Standard, and Focal Micro Utopia BE's. I had no trouble getting the speakers to disappear. At 40 hours your equipment is not even remotely close to being broken in. The Micro Utopia BE's in particula...
Need Amp for BE-718, any suggestions?
Semi, being a dealer for Usher, Plinius, and Bel Canto, I actually find Bel Canto to be warmer than Plinius. So, if the Plinius and BE-718's are a little too warm then Bel Canto will only make it warmer. In my room (which is a little more brightly...
kimber cable bi focals xl speaker cable
Dejanm, I believe you mean the upgrade to Kimber Monocle XL. The Bi-Focal XL is for bi-wireable speakers which the Focal Electra 1027 Be are not. The Focals will definitely allow you to hear the upgrade to the Monocle XL for sure.
Problem with Arcam or JM LABS
Try something different than the Rega cables. As much as I think in general that Rega is a good brand, I was not impressed with their cables at all when I heard them. On the system I heard them in initially, I was not impressed with the system unt...
MOON I-5 versus KRELL KAV 400XI
Dspraglow ... just a small correction. I'm not saying that I agree or disagree with your assessment of the Moon i5.3 vs Krell KAV-400xi, but it is not true that the i5.3 has a larger tranformer than the Krell. The Moon i5.3 has a 500VA transformer...
2006 BEST Female Vocal CD/SACD/XRCD
Sara K - "Hell or High Water" on SACDSee the reviews on SA-CD.nethttp://www.sa-cd.net/showtitle/3731I'd say this is the best SACD I own, both in terms of sound quality and music. I'm referring to the SACD stereo layer since I don't listen to multi...
MOON I-5 versus KRELL KAV 400XI
I'm not quite sure where a lot of people find the Krell KAV-400xi to be cold sounding. I never found that at all. Perhaps there are some people saying this without hearing it based on a supposed Krell reputation of being cold in the past or earlie...
How much better is the Krell 400xi compared to the
"The manufacturer rates it a 200wpc/8ohms. How can it be rated higher by someone else?"Easily, if the manufacturer really underrates the 8 ohm power specs far below what it actually measures. For example, it looks better to have an integrated amp ...
Mini Monitors - Dynaudio and JM Labs
If you're not thrown off by the Pioneer name, you may want to consider their EX-Series which was developed by TAD (Technical Audio Devices - Pioneer's high-end speaker division). These speakers were developed by the same guy that developed the hig...
Did 6moons post the BelCanto DAC3 review?
Kevziek, I agree with you. Your take on the DAC3 and its comparison to the DAC2 is pretty much the same as mine. I definitely disagreed with Edgar Kramer that the DAC2 "a large dollop of the same with a smidgen of warmth thrown and the fatter bott...
