Who Has the New Top Technics SL1200GRE? Does it blow your other expensive tables away?
The best way I found to connect the power and interconnect cables is to put a couple hardcover books under the rear feet thereby lifting the ass end of the turntable. This made connecting the cables a little easier. I love my SL-1200G.
Do you have a defining musical moment from your early years?
My first concert was The Beach Boys at the Cow Palace. It must have been '65 because Brian wasn't there, at the time, we didn't know why. Many more concerts followed at the Filmore and Winterland.

Touching story thaluza.I was about 8 years old with a Sears Silvertone record player. I had been playing those multi colored kiddie records. One day I asked my mother to buy whatever record was number one on the charts. She came back with Hound Do...

If you decide on ceiling speakers check out Atlantic Technology. I use them in my office system and they are excellent. Tweeters are adjustable.

You may be able to find a Luxmam 505 on close out. It was recently replaced by a MK 2 version.

I have a SL1200G, It's a wonderful table. I had a Rega p3-24 with Exact. For the money, it was good. I considered a RP-8, but no VTA is a deal breaker for me. With my SL 1200G I can easily switch between my Hana SL and Shure V15 mxr with Jico stylus.
All the old issues of Stereo Review are online!!
I subscribed to Stereo Review for many years. In the mid 70' after owning a Sherwood receiver, I went with separates, a Mac C-26 and a Crown DC-300A. I couldn't afford the extra $100 or so for the matching Mac C2105 amp, so I got the Crown. I just...
Harbeth Super HL5+...thoughts
I own the SHL5 40th anniversary, they replaced 7es 3's. They will be the last speakers I own. If you've read the TAS and Stereophile reviews you have a pretty good idea what these speakers can do. I can't add anymore superlatives. I listen to clas...
Rega Apollo
I have an Apollo-R, very smooth analog sound, not harsh or bright.
Going linear - The Luxman 507ux
@erik_squires Yes. I thought you might like the loudness button. It really fills out the presentation even at moderate levels. I think the remote is fine, I've certainly seen worse. I'm guessing the remote that came with my 505UX is the same as yo...
Going linear - The Luxman 507ux
@erik_squires I purchased a 505uX from the same dealer. I like it very much with my Harbeth SHL 5 Plus Anniversary speakers.I listen at moderate levels, never above 80dB. At these levels, I find that I prefer the "loudness" feature engaged. I am f...
Is it just me or does the "new" posting parameters seem like there unproductive?

Phono preamp suggestions
@paulcreed I've had both stock and Parts Connection modded versions of the GCPH. I currently use a Pass Labs XP-15, but I can't let go of the modded GCPH. Actually, the stock one currently listed on AG is priced a little high. They can usually be ...
