Passive Pre - No Regrets? I have had a Placette for over a year now. I will never go active again. I have hi output low impedence sources and sensative hi input impedence amps. This is perfect for a passive linestage. Not everyone has components as well suited for sure. If...

PS Audio Noise Harvester Hi Willster: Thanks for your post. While I heard calmer HF I did actually here more and better HF that was not simply rolled off in any way to my ear. In one of my reference recordings a soprano background vocal that is not close mic'd is easier t...
PS Audio Noise Harvester I'm an iso fan but didn't realize how much gear piece #1 was affecting all the others and so on until now with the recent harvester tests. I have big CJ power amps that would need fairly hefty ISO's. Getting one for my P-300 which feeds my sources...

Solid state; when would you use tubes? This is a nice thread with some interesting and thoughtful answers. Some people put some serious time and thought into their posts. I just want to talk about my journey from all SS in the 90's to today. I actually had well modded Citation V (tube)...
Anti-cables vs CC89259 I think more of the raves are for the Speltz interconnects than the speaker cable. The speaker cable is very inexpensive and holds a lot of appeal to value seekers. I had 8TC, replaced it with Speltz and enjoyed Speltz and its more tranparent HF r...
Pressing eject instead of stop damaging dvd player I always push stop since I bought a good CD player.I never used to. Also DVD playes are logic controlled and probably stop then eject. Some CD players I have seen will open the tray and you can hear or even see the disc spin to a stop-not good. ET
Automatic Man????? OK here goes...........Automatic Man was a band with Pat Thrall , Jerome Rimson , Bayette Todd Cochrane and I forget the drummer. They did two albums. I refer to them as the blue one and the pink one. They look the same otherwise. The blue one was...
