Thanks Tvad. Would you recommend that I use this with the Technics or Sumiko headshell?Darrell
Cartridge & Headshell for SL1210 M5G $399
Tvad, Actually, I did a search here and read every thread with with Technics in it that pertained to the 1200 or 1210 turntable, including the one you pointed to. That poster is looking in the sub $100 range. Are you saying that if I were willing ...
General Character of Harmonic Technology?
I found the Harmonic Tech power cables to provide good detail and an expansive soundstage.I think these cables are good cables for their price range, but I think you need something with less detail.Darrell
Primare I30 vs Krell KAV 400xi
Zormi, Are you really judging equipment based on weight rather than the actual sound quality of the units?Andrew, The Krell has a very healthy 200wpc. It has a clean sound with very authoratative bass. I'm not really a Krell fan, but this is one p...
what is a right IC for my current setup
Carl, You just have to get a decent power cord, and try it. Then you can make an educated recommendation. I agree with your theory, but when I got a decent PC and tried it on my Classe amps, I could hear a noticible improvement. I could hear this ...
Cable Management
Do you group 12vdc Trigger Cables with the power cords, or with the ICs?Darrell
Long Balanced Interconnect - Which?
So, it looks like Blue Jeans Cable is the best affordable choice? Thanks,Darrell
Long Balanced Interconnect - Which?
Sorry, I meant for "Which is more important". to be a question. Any input would be great as I have only heard the BJC.
Long Balanced Interconnect - Which?
Is capacitance the most important stat? I think the Signal Cable is thicker gauge. which is more important.Have any of you heard both the BJC, and SignalCable? How about the Better Cables? They seem to be in my price range too? Thanks for the sugge...
Sonos DAC
James, One thing that greatly helps the Sonos is a jitter reducer. I picked up a Genesis Digital Lens (GDL). this really improved the soundstage, bass, and cleaned up the highs. I hear the Monarchy DIP works well too. After using the GDL a while, ...
Room size for B&W 802D???
You should be fine. I have the 802Ds and a similar sized room with an opening to a dining room and hallway. My room is 15'x27' with 8 foot ceilings.I end up with a room node from 20hz-30hz due o the length of the room. Even 703s did that though. I...
What amp should I use for the B&W htm2d and scm?
Typically, you would want an amp that has the same sound signature as your fronts. This way the Center and Rears sound as seemless as possible. If you are keeping the Bryston on the Fronts, you should stick with a similar sounding Bryston for the o...
803D or 802D
Actually, the 802D bass is more controlled than the 803D. I know its counter intuitive, but I would put the 802Ds in a smaller room than than I would allow the 803Ds to go into.
Best Sonos ZP-80 Mod?
Steve, How would the Pacecar compare in SQ to a Prepro that has built in streaming, like the Denon Prepro. In this case the flac files are streamed from a NAS drive directly to the Prepro. Shouldn't this have the best SQ? I have a Sonos, and the c...
Sonos turns your house into an ipod
I have a Sonos ZP80 connected to my AVP2 processor connected via Coax. I have all my files stored in FLAC format. In this setup, I am using the AVP2 to do the DAC. It sound nice, but not as nice as playing a CD from my Denon 3930ci player (via coa...
