Lumin X1 or dCS Bartok
I have heard the Lumin T1 (not the X1), it was very good, musical and engaging. Heard the Dcs Bartok and the Vivaldi Stack multiple times in different systems, was never impressed nor engaged with them. If you can, look into MSB, which I'd take ov...
Best DAC?
The Holo May KTE dac is absolutely a unicorn at its price. I've owned Border Patrol, Benchmark, Denafrips Terminator, Rockna Wavelight, Mojo Audio Mystique Evo, and spent time with Bricasti M1SE, Dave+Mscaler, Berkeley Alpha Ref 2, Lampizator Paci...
Has Nordost forgotton who pays the bills?
@tablejockey I remember there was another thread where the OP compared the Aliexpress knockoffs with genuine Nordost from a dealer and they were really close in sound. Appears some knockoffs are quite close in quality, sometimes (not the case for ...
DAC That Punches Above Its Price Point
If you have a half way resolving system, don't buy into the ASR garbage DACs like Topping or RME, they all sound like hot garbage. There is no such thing a DAC that punches above its weight, you get what you pay for. The closest that comes to it is...
Mola Mola Tambaqui
@sutts Have you compared the Aries Cerat DACs to the Lampizator Pacific, which is another tube dac with much acclaim?
I feel bad for GenX'ers that missed out on the 60s and 70s.
Oh sweet child, 60s and 70s? Give me a break! I feel sorry for you boomers that missed out on the real music of the 30s and 40s. You post war generation that had everything handed to you on a silver platter will never understand the golden years o...
Line Magnetic 110Volt vs 220Volt
The price difference is importing distributor and dealer markups. If you can get a 220v plug wired in your house or live with a transformer, the 220v will do perfectly. In fact on some amps 220v sounds better 110v version of the same amp.
Single vs. Dual Subs
Thank you all for sharing your experiences, seems like a majority of people have seen great benefits going with two instead of one. I will go for two for my 16x23 room and report back.

Thanks for all the answers gents. @williewonka I'm on the cusp of ordering but not sure if the Parts Connexion nake UP-OCC would be up to the quality of the Neotech, have they been pretty much comparable to the sonics of the stripped Neotech?
I finally added a second REL Sub
For those in this thread who have tried one sub vs. two stereo sub, what did you gain by adding the second one? Was it worth double the cost?
I had a few drinks and bought some speakers, I've now sobered up
That's normal, give it time.  There are multiple reasons why:1. When we upgrade a major component, especially speakers, it's a shock to our system. We are used to a kind of sound we know and love for so long, that a big change will sound off, stra...
Duelund conversion to DIY Helix Geometry Cabling
Also one more question for @williewonka @grannyring and @wig , has there been a consensus on which sounds better:1. Putting two bare UPOCC conductors in a twisted pair inside a single PTFE tubeor2. Insert each bare UPOCC conductor into its own PTF...
Duelund conversion to DIY Helix Geometry Cabling
@williewonka Thanks Steve. I made a Spdif today using 2x18ga Neotech UPOCC (stock insulation) and 16ga mil-spec as neutral (will switch out when 16ga UPOCC arrives). I made it to be 1.27m long and it performs fantastically. So much so that it's no...
Shunyata Denali Damn!
Has anyone compared the Denali to Audioquest Niagara conditioners?

That's great to know, I only have 18ga unocc, do you think the shield/return needs to be thicker like 16ga?
