You could check the firmware on your SBT, but the firmware hasn't changed in years.https://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?107583-Which-is-correct-latest-firmware-version-for-To...I would suggest installing EDO on the SBT to get higher rez p...
Finally took the Bryston 4B Cubed plunge
I did find this review which compares the 3B, 4B and 14B Cubed:http://www.hifi-advice.com/blog/review/analog-reviews/amplifier-reviews/bryston-3b-4b-and-14b-cubed-...
Finally took the Bryston 4B Cubed plunge
So how does the 3B3 compare sound wise?  The 4B3 is heavier than I like, and the 3B-SST (150 W @ 8 Ohms) I have now has more than enough power for me.
Vandersteen Quatro Wood CT Setup Questions
@tomic601 I'm cleaning up the code and will put it up on github soon.
Vandersteen Quatro Wood CT Setup Questions
RV uses 4 warble tones per octave, so I use 1/4 octave bands.  A repeating logarithmic sine sweep is played thru the speakers, and digital bandpass filters are used to produce the band levels.  Once you've set the right volume level, the software ...
Vandersteen Quatro Wood CT Setup Questions
I've tried using Soular Energy to set the bass level, but I don't seem to be able to discern anything with this music.  I found it easier just to put on some familiar orchestral music with a lot of bass drum and then adjust the bass level until th...
Bryston or Pass Labs
I guess I'm the only one who would select based on which amp I had a hope of moving it upstairs on my own.  Actually, I'd probably go with a 3B3 on that basis, as long as we are sticking with class A/B.
Classical Music for Aficionados

Captain Crunch decoder ring for findind audiophile quality CD recordings
Just about anything on Lyrita (but not the newer "BBC Recordings" that were from broadcasts).  Most were recorded by the great audio engineer Kenneth Wilkinson.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kenneth_Wilkinson
Is USB audio dying?
It makes sense from a practical standpoint to get rid of the separate network transport and USB bus.  I have a Raspberry Pi running piCorePlayer, and all it does is read the stream from LMS on the ethernet connection, decode it to PCM, and send it...
what is the best Kt88 to get
Interesting, I love the Preferred Series KT88s in my Rogue M-180s.  Overall excellent, colorful, dynamic, very good bass, with a creamy top end.  They replaced an octet of KT-120s.  I did get them for nearly half price during a Black Friday sale. ...

Vandersteen 2CE Signature Speakers
My guess is that the speakers were not set up optimally for bass, which did not become apparent until music with a lot of complex and "thick" mid-bass was played.  The thick mid-bass sound will compromise midrange transparency and make the speaker...
Vinyl VS Digital
The 1600 seems to be highly regarded on VinylEngine:https://www.vinylengine.com/turntable_reviews.php?make=Technics&model=SL-1600
Tidal and Squeezebox
Since the LMS Tidal plugin doesn't support Master playback, you have to use something like a laptop to run the desktop Tidal app.The only way I had to play back from my laptop was by running a long USB cable to my (non-MQA) DAC in my equipment rac...
