Why would a moderator remove a cable review?
I’ve had this happen as well. I find it is more likely if the review feels overly promotional, driving the post to sound like advertising.
Solid State Phono Stages
I guess I have updates as well, which fit with @lewm's statement above. I used some funds from selling the BMC MCCI Signature ULN to acquire a Simaudio Moon 810LP. It is a very different beast from the Audionet PAM G2 / EPS which I documented thro...
What is the Best Sounding Stand Mount Speaker in the world?
@thieliste I think you meant to say Borresen 01 SSE. The 05 is the biggest floorstander. :) I have heard the 01, the 02 SSE, and the 05. All are endgame. I own the Borresen Z3 Cryo myself.
PS Audio Directstream DAC?
@danager The Edcor transformer upgrade gave the DSD a better sense of ease and lowered noise floor. It helps to eliminate some of the grittiness that you likely don’t even realize is there. The delivery is a bit more confident, adding a bit more w...
What is the Best Sounding Stand Mount Speaker in the world?
Borresen 01. I’ve heard them fill medium to large sized rooms without a sub, and their openness and tonal balance are worth drooling over.
I’m about to push the button to get 2 SVS 3000 micros to add to ATC SCM40s.
@m669326 Did you buy your SVS Micros new? Had your room size been mentioned or if guidance was sought on the appropriate subwoofer for the room, I would have advised to go with SVS’ larger offerings. The 3000 Micro have good specs for their size, ...
PS Audio Directstream DAC?
@w123ale Even if you have an older Aurender, I would leverage that for the streaming and serving. It is documented on PS Audio forums, and it is the same for  my experience, that the Bridge II introduces some digital noise and is a bit fatiguing c...
Jay’s Audio CDT3-MK3 wins over Aurender W20SE
@brandonhifi What you may be experiencing is also inherent to the W20SE’s design. Its battery power supply is more smooth and refined and can come across as less exciting and less resolving. I don’t have one on the floor, but if you ever want to b...
Best DACs under $7,000.00
@gregjacob You’re welcome. I would say the DAC 200 has soul, and many other characteristics. It’s a DAC I could likely live with if I didn’t already have the SDV 3100 HV. That one definitely has much greater tonal density, richness, and decay, but...
PS Audio Directstream DAC?
By default, the PS Audio DirectStream DAC is a wonderful performer, but I wouldn’t characterize it as analog sounding. It can have some etchedness and brittleness to it when compared to more expensive endgame DACs, but it is quite hard to beat in ...
Best DACs under $7,000.00
@gregjacob Elliott is wonderful to deal with, and I’m glad you spoke with him. I’ve spent a lot of time with the DAC 200 since June or so and know it very well, though I can’t compare it with a Golden Atlantic TRP. I was able to compare the DAC 2...
I’m about to push the button to get 2 SVS 3000 micros to add to ATC SCM40s.
@m669326 I usually adjust one sub at a time. And yes, be patient with break in   How big is your room? I would say that if you also want optimal performance, good quality power cables and subwoofer interconnects can make a profound difference in...
Best DACs under $7,000.00
@tvad Good point on the additional tubes on the Baltic 3. Noted, though my experiences still remained what they did. Always a pleasure discussing with you.
Best DACs under $7,000.00
@tvad Regarding the Modwright Transporter, one is able to use a 6922 to 6SN7 adapter and accommodate 6SN7 tubes. I did so successfully for years in a second system. That unit was what made me so drawn to the Baltic 3 when it was announced. Also, ...
Best DACs under $7,000.00
@tvad I would still say the Lampi Baltic 3 is still warmer and does have some bloom compared to most DACs on the market. Maybe not in comparison to other tube DACs, but certainly compared to the DACs I listed. I agree that there is a dimensionalit...
