Which pre-amp for the VAC 30/30
I have a VAC 70/70 MKIII. I was using a Sonic Frontiers SFL2 line stage with no noise problems. I heard from 1 dealer that the BAT pre-amps are not a good match with the VAC amps (possible hum problems). That was the only person I heard this from....

Tonearm & Cartridge Upgrade for Sota Saphire
I once owned the Sota star and Grado XTC. I now have a Basis Debut, Graham 2.2 and Clearaudio Accurate. I installed the Aurum beta for my dad. Nice cartridge. I would suggest the new Graham arm (retails for under $1,000). Good luck. 
Suggestions for my first turntable?
VPI Scout ($1500 retail without cartridge). I would also suggest contacting Hart of Audio advancements. He is an analogue expert, carries reasonably priced equipment and is a pleasure to deal with.
