Rega Apheta MC Cart
Thank you again, I spoke with the folks in TX, this morning and they concur, using my Ortofon T-10 SUT would be preferable to the EAR Phono Stage Trans. and would be, as he said, an awesome match for my system. I was concerned as I had one respons...

Spin Clean Record Washer
Thanks for all the feedback. I found and purchased one for $60.00, from Soundstage Direct. I hope it is the same product, but I imagine it is. Any ideas for better drying methods, other than using another cleaning machine?
Mac C220 vs. Cary Audio SLP 98P
Thanks Downunder. Fortunately, then, I already have an EAR834P, since I am using low OP carts and am very satisfied with the sound. I did like the MM phono stage on the Mac.
Mac C220 vs. Cary Audio SLP 98P
It has two outputs, so I guess I am good. thanks again
Mac C220 vs. Cary Audio SLP 98P
I can tell you Stereomaniac that i have read very good reviews about the Cary's phono stage, so long as the cartridge is high output M/C or M/M. I am hoping this is so. My next question, if you can answer this Macdad, can I use the Cary to bi-amp?...
Mac C220 vs. Cary Audio SLP 98P
Thank you Mac and thats exactly what I am looking for. I am coupled with a Mac Mc275 and love Mac also, but you have substantiated what I have heard about the Cary. My reluctance was with the Cary not having any tone control, like the 220'w bass a...
How much accoustifill is full?
Well after much experimentation, I now know what Jim Lansing had in mind for me and apparently this particular incarnation of his classic LE15A driver. I have tried filling the entire cabinet with with fairly tightly packed Accoustistuff, then cov...
Record Clam, yes or no
I agree completely, Samhar, unless I find myself needing to keep a warped record down, I am through. For now anyway.
How much accoustifill is full?
Ah, thank you. So there is no right or wrong amount. I will experiment.
Your Favorate JBL's from the 70's
I absolutely love this thread. In the early 70's I had a pair of custom made JBL LE215A/ Janzens electrostatic speakers in my record store, Gorilla Records in Syosset NY. I used to have people come in and said they sounded good from two blocks awa...
Rega 700 rewire
Thanks again for all your input, I now have another potential issue. I have decided to try the Grado Statement Master, for my Rega. I had a couple of suggestions about the Grado and I have always liked them in the past. I now have been told that t...
Best Cartridge under $1000.00 for Rega 700
I have decided to add the Grado Statement Master, to my collection, for my Rega P5. I got a good deal on Agon, and am awaiting delivery. I have since become aware of a potential hum problem with a Grado/Rega/VPI, combination. Is anyone else aware ...
Rega 700 rewire
Raul, I have been reading some of your MM/MC threads and you obviously have quite a bit of experience. I have using the buy what I saw and what I could afford at the moment, method of building a system. Based on limited knowledge, being a novice, ...
Rega 700 rewire
As you are mistaken about my skills, Reb, re DIY soldering and wiring, I am having Galen Carol in San Antonio, do a re-wire, with Cardas/Incognito as he has done tonearms for me before and is very good. I have the ability to take TT's apart, and e...
