Where to purchase a replacement tweeter?
I often have to replace tweeters on very old speakers for customers.Entering the tweeter part number or speaker model numberinto Google often pulls up inexpensive sources. Usually someone who has salvaged parts from busted speakers.Good luck!
Consonance Mods Anyone?
You have a great pair of speakers.I have heard the a120 and think that your speakers are probably telling enough to warrant a better integrated or separates (not to poo on your choice of integrated). I would listen to the new combo to see if it so...
Audiophiles and apartments: Oil and water?
I gave my very cute neighbor my phone number and asked her to call me before she called the cops. Win/win situation.:)
Do you know of small speakers that sound ''BIG'' ?
LS3/5a's sound much bigger than they are (which is tinny).VSA VR-1 sounds big in a small to medium size room.NHT SB3 gives great low end for a reasonable size bookshelf.I think that most small speakers that sound big have a pronounced mid-bass bum...
ARTICLE -Teens say they prefe vinyl to CDs
I think that the basic point of the abstract was that of compilation of self-reported behavior of an undisclosed (size/compositon) group of teenagers as a secondary finding in a larger body of research with no further analysis asside from author c...
Expectations low, listening pleasure high.
If you combine enough vices simultaneously (booze, pot, audiophilic-self-gratification,etc.) dont you go blind,... or grow hairy ears or something?
Sub size for 2 channel music in large room
The generalization the smaller woofers are more articulate is fairly accurate. Another thing to keep in mind is that cheap subs do more things wrong than they do right. There are any number of subs that use low quality drivers and amplifiers that ...
Expectations low, listening pleasure high.
My favorite stereo is my kitchen stereo. Is is a thriftstore scrounged job that sits on top of the cabinets.I use it when I am cooking and my favorite radio shows usually coincide with these times. Maybe it is just the positive associations and cor...
new Jolida
Even if a player comes from the same factory with improved parts I don't think that I would purchase it if it is using the pirated name of another company. Jolida does take great pride in their products and is honest about their limitations vs pri...
A CD that is Multichannel
DTS discs were popular for about five minutes several years back. They didn't sound bad either.
new Jolida
Sort-of. Jolida is an American company that manufactures in China. I have no personal experience dealing with the Chinese government. If it is true that they are dealing with counterfeit goods more seriously that is great. China is a major player ...
new Jolida
Well China is a tough country to prosecute. There was a really good story on the radio last night about American companies who get put out of business due to teh gray market of knock-offs. Apparently it is a costly and futile battle. I know a guy ...
What subwoofer to choose for 2 ch and HT combined
Since you have a pretty top-notch 2ch set-up I would not compromise it any more than I had to. A pair of subs with a high degree of adjustability running off of the speaker taps would be the best way. This way you would be completely out of the si...
new Jolida
I just spoke to the guys up at Jolida and they said that it was a Chineese knok-off. Gray market electronics. Does look cool though.
