Great Intergated amp with great built in DAC
+1 @kevinsherwood
Best Rock Song Ever!
Let me make a special mention. I was a boy in the 80's and I was dancing to Van Halen's JUMP with my mom. That song is still one of my favorites. The music video is great too.
Ennio Morricone has passed away
They made us watch The Mission in school. That's how I was introduced to the music of Ennio Morricone. Been a fan since then.
MC Cartridge: Elliptical; around 0.5mv; track 1.25-1.75; Affordable
OP, Do you absolutely need a dual-input phono stage? If so, you can also look into the Pro-Ject Tube Box DS2; otherwise, the Tube Box DS.
I am looking for help selecting an amplifier to match my Revel F228Be speakers.
Just my opinion:I would avoid getting an integrated amp with DAC. Flexibility when it comes choosing a DAC that just sounds right to me is important. (Same goes with phono stage.) Happy listening!

To OP, Should you decide to get another phono stage, get one with adjustable impedance to give you more flexibility when it comes to choosing which MC cartridge. Reading your post last night, I was thinking of recommending the Hana low output, but...
How to accurately gauge speaker sensitivity to match with tube amp?
Hilde, driver tubes (12AX7 in your case if I’m not wrong) have more influence on the sound than power tubes (KT88). But as I said, I am not familiar with your amp and don’t know how it responds to tube rolling. Tubes do have their own sound signat...
How to accurately gauge speaker sensitivity to match with tube amp?
Hi hilde45! I am not familiar with your amplifier, but have you tried tube rolling? I’m speaking from experience. I have a tube preamp driving a SS power amp. In my set up, the Rogers-branded Mullard 12AU7 has very good mids and sweet highs, but l...
Pioneer Direct Drives - Now and then?
Hi Erik! Start your vinyl journey right, and you'll buy not only 5 records, but definitely more. If you want a set and forget set up just to get started, I agree that a good DD turntable is what you need. And good tonearm, cartridge and electronic...
Hand me down audio equip- upgrade advice
OP, Someone with better hands did the refoam and ferrofluid. I did the recap of crossover and the Kube. If you have the time and the confidence (well, you did the refoam), I think you can do the ferrofluid as well.
Hand me down audio equip- upgrade advice
I agree with room treatment. I also agree that you have to spend more for a real speaker upgrade. I used to own the KEF 103/3 until I got the bigger and better (although older) 105 which I also restored. My 103/3 had the LF drivers refoamed and th...
Are integrated amps technically better than separates?
But also, this is very brand specific. Not everyone uses large, boutique caps at all. I agree. However, I am of the impression that large, boutique caps are there for better sound quality.
Are integrated amps technically better than separates?
My observation: It's simply not possible to fit all high quality parts and discrete components into an integrated. Take for example high quality capacitors which alone take a lot of space. In separates, you'd be able to use all the big caps you wa...
Another Request for Information/Knowledge
0.12g above the original spec does not sound bad. I would appreciate a recommended tracking force from the retipper. I got a JICO SAS for my Shure V15 Type III and they recommend 1.25g (vs. original spec of between 0.75 and 1.25g).
How many people here generally buy used?
Around 80% of my gear are used because many are older than me. I am into good, old stuff. I have integrated amps/receivers from the 50's to 70's. My main system has KEF speakers from the late 70's and c-j electronics from circa 2000's. My most rec...
