Why do so many people have problems with bass?
Why do so many people have problems with bass? Geez guys. Imagine having bought your 1st high end system and then coming back to the dealer and asking him/her, "Why am I having trouble getting bass from my system?" And the salesman giving you ...

Yes R*L = +    f L channel B  =   ---        Hook one to L, The other to R. Good to go. You may have to float your black IF you get a hum.

IMO, the early 80's started the trend which pointed out that most of the music is in the midrange.. The response, was an effort to clean up and boost the clarity, They would cut the bass response. And they cut it too much IMO. Yes, the music was c...

+1 @noromance  That is Rel's way of hookup  But he better make sure that the red & yellow are both positive for his B&K's. I'd think so but but i never underestimate the marketing depts ability to make a different color as - such as yello...
how much should I spend to get a better turntable than my current turntable?
I had a 1200 series Dual and replaced it with the MMF-7 which was much better. If you have a $500 budget This is one of the best Dual TT’s ever made according to many. What you have now is the very bottom of the ladder TT's. Dual 5000
Has this happened to you? How can it be stopped?
Have you felt the urger to buy a vintage piece of audio gear when you really didn’t need it? Not really. I don't buy vintage because its too old for me. . But I DO have a Harmon Kardon 730 twin powered receiver which I bought new in 1978 that I...
MoFi controversy
IMO, the $125 price tag is ridiculous. Many complain about the "Hot Stampers" price. But I have seen no complaints about the absurd price on these albums. I realize that a business HAS to make a profit to survive. But this seems like gouging to me...
Review: The Audiogon Discussion Forum itself 😉
@sbank  Have you looked at audiocircle? Probably as much interaction w/manufs as anything else.  Yes, AC has the various Mfg's circles which are dedicated to the Mfg and the [posters are mostly owners of such equipment or interested in owning....

Most dealers & Mfgs don't want to waste their time debating with the DIYers and other faux internet experts on most Bulletin Boards & forums. Thats mostly why you see so few in the forums IMO

I tend to agree with @systembuilder22  about the classic vintage. However the problem there is that many of us have had those tables earlier in life and wore them out. So, unless you get one that has been rebuilt, its like buying a 1978 Chevy Mali...
Go get out your pitchforks, I’ve done a sacrilegious thing. . .
@sns  I’d only find system EQ valuable if changing settings by individual recording. Yep. I put a 10 band eq in my system in the 80’s. It caused my Sound Man exp to kick in and almost worked me to death fine tuning every album and sometime dif...
Cables recommendation
I keep looking at Audio Envy cables. They get excellent reviews. They are not as inexpensive as the Blue Jeans cables but they are still not priced where the big boys are. A 6' set of their top of the line  SP12 speaker cables (ribbons) is  $475. ...
Cartridges, Vinyl, Stylus, Turntable
@oregon  Thanks for the answer to the question, "Why on earth" It sounded like a system dedicated to casual listening by the household. I always listen to digital when casual listening is involved mostly because it doesn't interrupt my work, etc....

+1 @mijostyn  That was my first impression too
Subwoofers and Crossovers.
@dimbhaka  @kenjit  To low Pass Filter or NOT to Low Pass Filter. That is the question. I am a Rel fan and have had them for 20 yrs. Here is their take on the Low Pass Filter. Make what you will of their position Low Pass Filter?
