If you own quality monitor speakers you want to read this new review
I guess the editor will come in at some point and clean up your writing?        " The pair shipped to me for review wherein a beautiful walnut hand-rubbed grain.""I was feeling the psychical ambient air pressure waves as much as hearing the bass n...
Upgrading Technics 1200 Tonearm under $1000
IMO you will have to spend more than $1000 to significantly upgrade that arm. I do see some people replacing the arm on the 1200G model.  Maybe they would give you a deal on the old arm?
Upscale Audio and Primaluna
@hudoWhat I wrote (in full) was:"A couple of people have pointed out that the Prima Luna amps are made by Cayin/Spark but did not mention that Cayin/Spark is owned by the Chinese government as part of the large CATIC group. Quite simply, every dol...
Upscale Audio and Primaluna
A couple of people have pointed out that the Prima Luna amps are made by Cayin/Spark but did not mention that Cayin/Spark is owned by the Chinese government as part of the large CATIC group. Quite simply, every dollar of profit from your purchase ...
Cayin A-300b vs Muzishare x9
The Cayin brand is owned and manufactured entirely by the Chinese government.  Personally, this would be a deal breaker for me though I know for others it is not an issue.(Yes, I know where my iPhone is manufactured, thank you.)
Favorite obsolete formats.....
78 rpm.  Much of America's best music can be found in this format.  Not obsolete for me!
Sweetvinyl Sugarcube - SC1 and SC2
I've been hoping an SC2 will show up on the used market.  Looks like it is going to be a long wait!
Choosing an SUT?
I got a SUT from these guys:  http://www.sacthailand.com/transformer_mc.html   They were recommended to me by someone with a lot of experience with SUT.  For a small additional charge, they will do a custom winding to match your cartridge if that ...
Technics 1200G phono recommendations
I also have a Technics 1200G.  My first choice would be a Luxman EQ 500.  I think this would be compatible with the vast majority of cartridges available these days.  Expensive though!  Herron gets a lot of positive comments here, as well.
Technics 1200 MK2 vs Technics SL-1210GR
An interesting case can be made for the recent Technics turntables by doing a search for "Marc Phillips Tone Audio Magazine Technics 1200".  Mr. Phillips back in 2006 took it upon himself to demonstrate the obvious poor quality of the ubiquitous T...
Sota or Technics
There is nothing wrong with the arm on the Technics, objectively, based on construction and specs. It is very simple in appearance but it is also the result of many years of production experience. It sounds great to me when used with a suitable ca...
HOW MUCH DO NON-AUDIO FACTORS INFLUENCE YOUR AUDIO PURCHASES?
Last time I looked, the KEF speaker company was owned by the Hong Kong based conglomerate Gold Peak Group.  The speakers have a British association but not British ownership.
Ideas For Phono Cable For My Turntable.
I have the same table.  I use silver Audio Sensibility phono cables.  Sounds quite nice.Nothing wrong with the arm, IMO.
HOW MUCH DO NON-AUDIO FACTORS INFLUENCE YOUR AUDIO PURCHASES?
@danvignau   Please read what I wrote.  I said I won't buy any products made by a company owned by the GOVERNMENT of the PRC.  This would be companies like Cayin which is entirely owned by the Chinese government or Prima Luna which manufactures th...
LWAudio
Guy looks fine to me. People are quick to complain if there are problems with dealers. I would buy that FM Acoustics 122 Phono pre he has listed if I had the funds!
