Speed stability issues with my Teres turntable...
Yup...the bearing well is indeed grounded. Sides of the platter have been cleaned. I think now what it was was that a bit of lint got over the 'eye' looking at the bottom of the platter. Once I finally got that out, no more probs. FWIW, Chris now ...
Speed stability issues with my Teres turntable...
Posting a follow up...I only reset the belt, and cleaned the sides of the platter (again). NO more problems!...it is again the ROCK STEADY friend it has been for 18 years. I don't think I did anything....really. I can't help but wonder if it was b...
Speed stability issues with my Teres turntable...
Thanks to all who replied! The Maxon motor in mine is a Maxon 110189.Believe it is still available. Chris told me he hasn't seen one fail yet. Told me to clean and lube the motor bearings, and inspect and clean the platter bearing, and to check th...
Top 5 Tonearms Newer or Vintage Under 2500 That Will Beat anything above/below 2.5k?
I second Moerch. I've had a UP4 on my Teres for 18 years. No problems with it. It is a very well behaved arm.
Teres Audio
I'm hoping they will at least still offer support for old customers like myself.I bought a Teres 155 (15) years ago and have had ZERO issues with it. But I'd like to think if I ever need a new bearing or motor Chris would still be there for me.

LP Gear N97xVL ViVid Line Contact Stylus for Shure M97xe--Also compared vs JICO SAS Stylus
Thanks for the update...soon as my stock stylus starts to wear, I'm on it! But I am miffed that it went from $79.00 to $139.00 overnight!...they're obviously taking their cues from JICO!
Review: Shure M97xE Cartridge
Your review is dead on (sez Johnny-cum-lately). As far as surface noise goes, I would suggest that is more a function of the turntable-particularly the weight and material of the platter. I have a Teres turntable with a 5 in thick acrylic platter-...
Review: Forte Model 4a Amplifier
Thanks, Ferrari! I've an Audio by Van Alstine Transcendence T7 hybrid preamp. Tubed inputs/Class A FET outputs. Despite its funky looks, it is just an amazingly clean and dynamic sounding preamp, without an ostensibly SS sound. Ought to be a good ...
Review: Forte Model 4a Amplifier
Anyone compare this amp to the Forte 1A? I had one of those; regret selling it. I've got a 4a on the way...Yippee!
absolute best component you ever owned
...as it's the only component that I still have after 12 years, which is when I started in this insane hobby. Everything else has changed several times. Close runner up is my Magnepan MMG's...they WILL be upgraded to 12's or 1.6s eventually, but t...
Need advice on Bryston B-60
I just sold mine for $900.00, so I'd say you've found a great deal. Good God, 60wpc ought to more than enough into your Klipsch's...I was driving a pair of Magnepans with my B60, and it was more than enough for me. And the Magnepans are about 14 D...
Top three most over underrated eqpmt??
Top 3 most of overrate components: 1.)Any expensive line stage, either tube or solid state (but esp.solid state)... We don't NEED no stinkin' line stages! (See underrated components below). (2)Krell amps...I'm sure they can be stunning in the righ...
Heard Kimber Select cables?
Based on the recommendation of the maker of my FT Audio LW-1, I gulped and bought a used pair of Kimber Select 1020's, to go between his LW-1 passive pre and my Music Reference RM10. The caveat of somebody's previous post should be heeded...these ...
