Subwoofer Placement
Good question. The room is rectangular in shape. The shorter side is about 12 feet wide - so the speakers are about 10 feet away from each other. They are an inch away from the sides of their respective walls. The longer side is about 22 feet long...
Subwoofer Placement
Thanks for the light hearted post Czarivey. Pdn - thanks for the feedback. I agree with you. I like Rel because they do just one thing, and do it well. Plus, I don't want a big sub, for space and cosmetic reasons, and that's why I liked the Rel T9...
Subwoofer Placement
Thanks Bob. I have room to place the sub next to the side wall, but it would have to be in front of the speakers. Thanks for forwarding the paper. Very detailed analysis, but not directly applicable to the problem at hand.
Do you biamp your B&Ws or other comparable brands?
Thanks Manoterror. For now, I'm just going to stick with the biwire option using just one output from my amp. They already sound amazing! Thanks again.
Do you biamp your B&Ws or other comparable brands?
Thanks again. Love this site!
Do you biamp your B&Ws or other comparable brands?
Thanks for the great feedback. If I did end up biamping, then I was going to use a separate two channel amp for the rear speakers.Your insight about the a51 offering more power with only two channels in use is priceless. In that case, I don't feel...
Do you biamp your B&Ws or other comparable brands?
If I do not end up biamping, should I at least biwire? I would like to biamp as I will be able to better utilize my amp. Otherwise, I'm wasting 3 channels of power in stereo mode, as opposed to just 1. But, I don't need to do biamp just for that r...
Do you biamp your B&Ws or other comparable brands?
Thanks guys.I am using a 5 channel 250watt amplifier. I believe it is large enough to power the 803s, but I have been told that sending more power to the speaker with my current amp using biamping would improve the sound, especially at lower volum...
Revel F208s vs Cremona M vs B&W 803/804 D
I compared the 1400 project arrays to the F206. To clarify, the 1400s were for $9,000, for floor models. I also just realized that this was not a true ABA test. The sourced components were on the same rack, but different. The source components for...
Revel F208s vs Cremona M vs B&W 803/804 D
I liked the Cremonas and Olympicas as we'll. Beautiful sounding and looking speakers indeed. The Olympicas are apparently a LOT better, but way out of my budget. Re: the F208s, when doing an ABA comparison using two separate set ups, both the Linn...
Revel F208s vs Cremona M vs B&W 803/804 D
Thanks for the great discussion guys. I have done a fair share of listening to Revels this past week. I auditioned the F208s, the F206s as well as the Salon2s. I think they are all amazing speakers. The only thing if didn't like amongst all three ...
Linn Akurate 242 Speakers, WOW
Can anybody compare these to the 803Ds? I like them both very much, and finding it hard to justify one way or the other.
Revel F208s vs Cremona M vs B&W 803/804 D
Do you think my source and amp don't justify the speakers I'm looking into? Confused as I thought the A51 is a premium component. I understand that the AV7005 may not cut it as audiophile, but it has balanced outputs and can be upgraded later. Or ...
Emotiva XPA-5 vs. Parasound A51?
Thanks guys. I decided it spend 2.5x more and get the parasound. It's an investment in high quality gear that will last for a long time. Emotiva is just too new, focused on competing on price and not quality, plus I've heard their components have ...
Revel F208s vs Cremona M vs B&W 803/804 D
I also just listened to the JBL Synthesis 1400. Good speaker bit the vertical horn is definitely a weird look. Sounds great, but just afraid of getting a brand like JBL.
