T+A Amps and Preamps?
@audiotroy its now been some years since your very passionate posts on T&A. What has occurred since then? Do you even still carry the line? If not what happened?
Millercarbon's Mega Vibration Control Journey
I'm a bit late to the game with isolation having only tried Herbie's products. They used to work for me and after a few rounds of component changes, the magic just wasn't there. In fact, those footers were having a negative effect so I stopped co...
Curious to know your streaming and dac set up and the best recommended streamer under $15k
@chilli42 did you compare the Weiss+Lumin streamer to just using Weiss' own network renderer? The Weiss alone with a good app like jPlay iOS may be just as good (perhaps superior?) to using the Lumin in between.
The best speaker cables you’ve had
Lots of peeps here for the Fractal F1. I have wanted to check them out for years.
DAC Shootout Starts This Weekend
I think he is talking about stuff like the Bluesound Node. The network renderer in the Weiss would be vastly superior in sound quality. And one less power cable, one less digital cable e.t.c
Nordost Frey2 vs Tyr2
I think it’s overdue. I would hate to buy a cable now to only have the v3 come out soon.
Nordost Frey2 vs Tyr2
It’s now been over 10 years since the Norse2 line was introduced. It was 2012. The Norse1 line seemed only to last half that time. Has there been any word on if a replacement line is coming?
DAC Shootout Starts This Weekend
@verdantaudio I am enjoying your audio equipment impressions as I too use Liberty and Duende in my short list of test tracks!! The Weiss 501 really appeals because the network input allow you to ditch an outboard streamer and further reduce box c...
Has Tweek Geek stop selling QSA products?
The ’quantum’ conditioning process that QSA uses comes out of the Hong Kong DIY audio scene. The only difference between a $200 and $5000 QSA fuse is the amount of time the fuse is left on the cooker. Same with all their other products, its the s...
Ferrite cores on cables
We should be more specific about where ferrite cores work and where they do not. IMO they do not work on analog signal cables. They also do not work on power cables that are supplying power to a component with a linear/transformer based power sup...
Who else can't sleep the night before their fancy new gears arrive?
@samureyex You have the matching BMC amp to go with the DAC? I remember when this brand dropped about 10 years ago and it was very well regarded, in both performance and price. But I have not seen basically any reviews since then. The DAC really ...
Who else can't sleep the night before their fancy new gears arrive?
Sometimes the anticipation and wait for the new gear ends up being more exciting and satisfying than the product itself.
"Audiophile" Power Cables: The Greatest Audio Conspiracy Theory of All Time?
The power inlet IEC quality, and the wiring from the power inlet to the board inside the component can effect the sound, let alone the power cable itself. That truly is the last foot of wiring in the 10 miles from substation to your system.
Who else can't sleep the night before their fancy new gears arrive?
For new audio toys I basically refresh the online shipment tracking page relentlessly.
Ferrite cores on cables
I have never tried a ferrite core that didn't sound better OFF the cable. Ferrite cores will strip away frequencies that are intended to be heard.  Agreed. To my ears at least.
