Wet speaker cables
I'm blessed enough to have a wife that will allow for a dedicated audio room in the house. I can't be picky about which floor its on.
Wet speaker cables
Jim Aud of PAD sent me a personal email indicating the cables simply need to dry out and the main body cannot be damaged. Very impressive customer service!
Wet speaker cables
Thanks Sksos - it had just occurred to me last night to contact PAD directly. I've gone through about eight speaker cables and none have compared to PAD.
Wet speaker cables
Thanks for the replies. BTW, this is my 6th basement flood in 4 years. Noboby has a solution. The utopias and the equipment are elevated and should be fine. However, the PADs are soaked along with my Tara Labs PCs I should emphasize that the ends ...

I will definitely have them tested at my dealer rather than putting my electronics at risk. What do you think my insurance company will say about replacing "wires" that cost $xxxx?
Comments on Mctinosh C500T Preamp
I went from a BAT VK-31SE to the C500T. Sonically, this is an excellent pre-amp. However, it is a very complex machine that does not offer a plug-in-and-play experience. Additionally, I also had problems with one of the umbilical cords that connec...
Heat + air conditioners blasting = CDP won't play
Thanks again for the replies. Most of the recommendations are to purchase a voltage stabilizer. However, I have been very pleased with the sonic performance of my passive Adept Response. Wouldn't the acquisition of a power generator render the Ade...

Thanks for all the great replies so far. Hevac, that's actually a great idea. I'm pretty certain a P300 would suffice as it would only be powering the Ayre. I also contacted my electrician regarding a dedicated 20 amp circuit. That would be the be...
My last pre-amp, Rowland Capri or Ayre K5xe ?
I wonder why the Mac C500T doesn't often get mentioned as being a world class pre? Fantastic unit.

Hi BrettSorry for the delayed reply. I have been thrilled with the Novas over the past three weeks. I was expecting some difficulties assimilating them into my listening space but I could not turn down the opportunity to acquire them locally at a ...
Focal/JM Labs Nova Utopia Be
Thanks Focalfan and Mechans. I'm certain that the Stella's are superior to the Nova's in every conceivable manner. However, provided the current retail cost of the Stella's ($95,000 here in Canada), the Nova's at 1/4 the price are certainly the mo...
Success w. large speakers & moderately sized rooms
Thanks again for the replies. I feel like my speaker placement and room treatments will allow me to experience what the Nova's are capable of. Its just slightly terrifying to make a significant financial contribution for speakers without knowing i...
Success w. large speakers & moderately sized rooms
Thanks for the replys. My current speakers are about 3' feet from the side walls and 5.5' feet from the rear walls. Hopefully it will be just a matter of minimizing room interactions to get the most from this speakers.
