I have a deHavilland Ultraverve pre-amp (tube) and two Channel Island mono-blocks

I frequently get a static buzz from the left speaker

Could it be that I am due to re-tube?

Swap tubes between channels. If the buzz follows it's the tubes. If it continues buzzing from the same channel you need to dig deeper.
