CD Transport Reccomendation

Looking for  CD transport for one of my two channel systems.  I have an SMSL P200 in one of my systems that is really a fine player.  I ordered another one that was allegedly delivered by DHL but was not.  Ugh....Trying to avoid shipping from China again.  I have a Jay's cd transport that is a nice piece of kit but I don't want to spend enough to get another one.  I am currently using an 800 buck Project front loader that is not bad. Looking for reliable transport for high end disc spinning in a system that has no streaming capabilities.  Price cap new is under 2K.  Thanks.

I picked up the 701t about a year and a half ago.   It's a great machine,  unfortunately it's gone up 4 or 5 hundred bucks since launch.  Still a great machine at the price

I bought a Cambridge Audio CXC about a year ago and it is fantastic.  Punches way above its price point.

@jaymark

+1 for SMSL PL200T.  For around 2k I acquired the SMSL and a used Denafrips Venus II 12th and connected with I2S.  Really sweet.  I do find that the PL200T is a little sensitive to scratches on my very old(er) CDs.  Bought SMAL on Amazon...

Not intending to hijack this thread, but does anyone know if the SMSL PL200T will play CD-R/RW disks?

Also will it play the CD layer present in many SACD/DSD discs?

Thanks!

I believe it does.  Go to Amazon and search for smsl PL200T.  Scroll down to Product Information, click on Features and & Specs and and you will find it is CD-R/RW Compatible.

PL200T uses a standard CD transport mechanism designed for Red Book CDs.  In most of modern drives, it inherently includes CD-R compatibility feature.
