Integrated amp for Philharmonic BMR monitors

Looking for proven pairing with BMR monitors. Would like to hear from past/present owners. I have consider Rega Elex. Musical fidelity m5si,m3si, and stretching a bit to rogue Cronus magnum 3. Any advice is greatly appreciated

@mcpherson I wonder what's in those Super BMR to make it so expensive. $3,500 each. $7k for a pair. The HT towers have the same drivers and 2x the amount of the Purifi woofers and only $4500~

To answer your question. I tried a tube amp, 55 watts / channel. Lots of watts as far as tubes were concerned and that wasn't enough. It sounded marvelous but the tweeter wasn't getting enough power but it sounded subdued.

But like I said, the amp has to be really good in sound quality and has to be quite powerful. Idk how powerful the Rogue Magnum 3 is, 100 watts seem sufficient. I believe it would be a good match.

I don't have the BMR anymore, I only owned it for 2 years. ATM I have a Coda S5.5, the Coda is powerful and sounds sublime. I'm sure it would be a good match for the BMR too.

@samureyex ,

I think the Super BMR are $3500 for the pair. The website says $1,750 each which makes sense.

Before I ran the Monitors with a Wotan/Kara I used a Ragnarok 2 which was fine, and if you like planar headphones - a slam dunk at the used prices at around $725-750.

I've been reading along and thanks for everyone's input. I just made a $500 deposit on the Curved BMR Monitors in the limited? Piano Blue Burl finish. Total for this finish is $2,300/pair. For starters I will run them off my Vincent 331 power amp. With 150 WPC (8 ohm) & 300 WPC (4 ohm) with the first 10 watts in Class A. If that sound doesn't match I'll look into amps from Hegel, Moon or Atoll, maybe others on the used market (always been a Krell fan), but I'm done with owning 125 pound power amps.

I'd guess that delivery won't occur until July.
