If you are talking about the vacuum motor for the HW 17, there is an old thread on the Hoffman forum about replacing the pump with a substitute. It might help. If you know the model and specs of the motor, some supply houses may be able to recommend a direct fit replacement.

SUBSTITUTE FOR PUMP ON VPI CLEANING MACHINE (HW-17) The pump on my VPI record cleaning machine (Model HW-17) is not working. The rep from VPI informed me that they are no longer able to order the pump that goes to this model. However, she said that she knows people who were able to substitute a fish tank pump for this. Has anyone with this VPI cleaning machine (HW-17) used a substitute pump—if you did, please advise.
