Tekton Design Moab

Ordered a pair just now. In Dark Gray, to which Tammy immediately said, "Oh the Charcoal is beautiful!" Charcoal sounds better than Dark Gray (even though we are talking about the same color!) so Charcoal it is!

My beloved Talon Khorus do still sound awfully good. It will be interesting to see how the Moabs stock out of the box compare with these tweaked and modded warhorses. Both the strength, and the weakness, of the Khorus is using the 10" woofer to cover so much midrange. Its a strength because it makes for a very smooth and cohesive sound. But its a weakness because its asking a lot of such a large driver to go so high. Talon makes up for it with their isobaric design. Mounted inside and directly behind the woofer is another identical driver facing the opposite direction. The idea is this relieves the front facing driver of having to compress the air inside the cabinet. This does allow for a much faster response, and is a big reason for the wonderful music the Khorus produces.

I have a feeling however it is no match for Eric Alexander's ultra-low mass driver array solution. Only one way to know for sure. So we will just have to see!

Accurate? I cannot agree. Hopefully the more sensitive types won’t find this post offensive somehow. Disagreeing with some seems to get a reaction.
nwres,

I am not taking anything out of context. It is just that the concept is unclear. I am far from being malicious in this case. Just curious.

Really, if terminals on some speaker, or whatever else, do not serve the purpose well without contact enhancer, would you consider that product good enough? If some tweak applied to speakers does not change the speakers, why would one apply it? How many things you use that you say "It does not change anything so I am using it."?

There may be an answer to my questions, and it may be a reasonable one, if you get off the train where any question is considered malicious.

Glupson, here is what I wrote:
So twoleftears, if your point is that one should wait till it's broken in before applying enhancements, then I do not believe your point has relevance in regards to MC and his Moabs. In my understanding of this thread, he did nothing but perhaps put some contact enhancer on the terminals in the first couple of days. And that is hardly changing the speaker.
In this context, "changing" the speaker means something like changing out drivers, changing caps etc. But most people already get the point.
Contact enhancers may change the quality of the signal passing through the speaker. Nothing to do with terminals. Please move on.
Actually nwres, the concept that glupson is presenting is very clear and valid.
