Audio Education

I am new to the audiophile world. Does anybody have any good references or sources to read up on the physics of- Amps, preamps, ohms, resistance, etc.  Technology surrounding audio equipment.
Something like audio-phonics for dummies.
Thanks

I learned a lot from:

-Robert Harley's - The Complete Guide to High-End Audio
-Floyd Toole's -  Sound Reproduction - The Acoustics and Psychoacoustics of Loudspeakers and Rooms
-Jim Smith's - Get Better Sound

Blogs have always been my source of entertainment because I just love ww2 luftwaffe flying jacket reading and your blog has made me contended. So keep up the good work.

+1 on the 'Complete Guide to High End Audio', also 'Master Handbook on Acoustics'.
