Strange Fruit: The Beatles' Apple Records Documentary

I'm a HUGE Beatles fan, but never really delved, knowledge wise, into their label, Apple Records.

Amazon Prime is airing the documentary "Strange Fruit: The Beatles' Apple Records".  It's almost three hours long, but very well done.

I always thought the label did quite well, but it really didn't.  They had a great philosophy and intention, but in practical application, it didn't work very well.

I learned quite a bit.

I highly recommend this!

I can understand the title = Apple, but it is in very best poor taste to the song "Strange Fruit".

Wish they'd done more research.

Strange Fruit Lyrics:

Southern trees bearing strange fruit
Blood on the leaves and blood at the roots
Black bodies swinging in the southern breeze
Strange fruit hanging from the poplar trees

Pastoral scene of the gallant south
Them big bulging eyes and the twisted mouth
Scent of magnolia, clean and fresh
Then the sudden smell of burning flesh

Here is fruit for the crows to pluck
For the rain to gather, for the wind to suck
For the sun to rot, for the leaves to drop
Here is a strange and bitter crop

Watch the documentary and come back and reread the lyrics.

Seems pretty apropos to me, but what do I know...
