Does this happen often?

Spend a very enjoyable hour in the most succulent sweet spot, then for whatever reason click on this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ewy8gSI7a08 and get about as big a kick even though its on the laptop.

So much talent. Of which there was a lot back then. So much so it was taken for granted, even dismissed as cliche for a time. So that when Michael Fremer referred to Torme as the velvet fog, he hastened to add that he meant that as a compliment. A voice that has to be heard to be believed.

The studio recordings are one thing, but its a talent that shines brightest live.
If you get a kick from your laptop, that’s just your ears/brain adapting. THAT is what “break in” really is from speakers, electronics, cartridges.
Horse Hockey.............
 I know. Can you believe??!

Just assume for a moment, purely for the sake of the argument, assume that is correct. Every time we listen to something different it takes our ears and brains a while to get used to it.

Every time we hear something new it would be like crap. Then we would all be like how was your blind date? Well she started out harsh and grainy but I let her keep talking and by the end of the night her voice sounded much smoother but still a little nasal, so I left her talking in the other room all night and woke up the next morning to Scarlett Johansson! Well okay she still looks like Amy Schumer but now she sounds just like Scarlett Johansson!

As much as I'm sure we would all like this to be true sad to say Ozzy is right - Horse Hockey!
Beauty is of course in the eye of the beholder.I’m not a big fan of Mel Torme but recognise his beauty whatever format it appears in.I’m more taken by this style as it really does stretch the term beauty.+https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N_AcmtmegKI.Its as much the venue and its audience as the performance.
