The original Nautilus series was/is damn good. Those series were bought by many who have them still. They were a bargain compared to today’s B&W prices. The Diamonds were not a night and day difference, more subtle in my opinion. There is a little deeper bass but the original 800s image and convey music like crazy.
Glut of used B&W 800 Diamond Line
I’ve never seen any other B&W 800 line speakers show up so quickly on Audiogon. The Matrix & Nautilus models were very scarce (& still are) on the Gon, but the Diamond is widely available. This even seems to be the case on eBay. I’ve not had the pleasure of hearing any Diamonds, but I would expect that they would be at least as good as earlier lines. What am I missing (aside from an in-person audition)?
