Oppo Ceasing production

Why wouldn’t they sell the operation? This isn’t about resources, it’s about strategic business decisions. Very strange. 

I saw this too.  Very strange indeed.  I bought a 205 a couple of months ago and am glad I got one when I did.  I can't say I saw this coming. 

Do you worry about product support and updates? They are promising to provide ongoing support, but what incentive do they have?

I am not really worried about support and updates at this point.  What worries me is that a company like Oppo, with a superb value proposition, can't stay in the game.  I get the whole physical media being dead argument.  But why not jump the shark?  They are saying they are going to cease production of products, not just physical media.  This is just weird.
