12 ft pair of thick speakers cables?? Can they be cut downt to a 6 ft pair??

I have a 12 foot pair of Harmonic Technology Pro-11 Plus speaker cables. Can they be cut down to a 6 ft pair and re-terminated with WBT banana jacks. The 12 foot pair is awkward and difficult to place, and WILL NOT stay put on "Porcelain  Cable Elevators"

I  really like the cables and don't want to necessarily sell them  The "new"  Harmonic Technology company blew me off when I ask if they could do it??   Are there outside services companies that will do it for a reasonable price??.

Thanks,  SJ

connect some lamp wire and get friends to help you do a blind listening test

then, sell them (greater fool theory)

bluejeans cable IIRC, will let you try different cables and return (tho it is a tiime consuming way to re-invent the tone control)

I agree with most guys here. If HT is not willing to re-terminate their own cable (and that's a shame) sell them and look for something else comparable.
I have done so.  Many years ago, but in memory not that big a job.  Cut a 7-foot cable into halves.  Per Shadorne, with the necessary tools can be done neatly.

I agree with Doug in his response "A zillion conductors with individual dielectric"....FAR too many tiny conductors to clean off, the bunch together and crimp or solder to connectors on both (2) sets of cables. Not to mention that you will need to purchase a total of 8 more (preferably high quality) terminations, which can be quite costly. If the wire was just simply stranded or solid core, it would be an easy DIY job. The dialectric needs to be removed before terminating in your case.
