I personally see no reason to go the 250, I think you'll feel you lost something. I wanted more dynamics with my 102 so I got a second 102 and bi-amp vertically. I would recommend this route first! Both the speakers you are talking about should be fine with the 125 watt amps.

I know it looks odd, but this is how John Dunlavy recommends setting them up. If you can imagine, the speakers completely disapear when the music is played.
