Wrong cartridge for my MMF 2.1

Hi,
I just bought an Ortofon OM 10 for my Music Hall MMF 2.1 on the recommendation of an online cartridge store, and when I tried to install it yesterday it was pretty clear that it was a complete mismatch physically. The cartridge that I took out (Tracker?) has one tubular connector on the back of it, whereas the Ortofon has 4 prongs on the back.
I am very much a newbie when it comes to turntables, so is there something simple I am missing here or have I just been given bad advice?
Thanks
chrisherbert
If you are really new at this and don't, for example, have a protractor or anything to align your new cartridge with, I would recommend having it professionally installed (perhaps you could ask to watch so you'll know what to do next time).

Among other things, you could damage the new cartridge or not properly align it and damage your records.
Oh I see. I will give that a try tonight. Thanks very much for the quick response.

it sounds to me that you simply pulled out the Stylus assembly from the cartridge. You need to unscrew the screws on the top of the tonearm headshell. The cartridge will drop down exposing the 4 connector wires and connection posts. You remove those, and attach them to your OM10.

Sorry if I'm not following. I'm not familiar with the tracker cartridge, but had an MMF5 and an OM10.
