Why NO LOVE For BOENICKE Audio Speakers Here ?

I think they are some of the most realistic sounding speakers on the world market!🎶

"at particular times a great deal of stupid people have a great deal of stupid money" - Walter Bagehot

Because you’re paying Ferrari money for a Fiat!
parts-express
Peerless SLS $35-36
Fountek FE85 around $11

Boenicke are asking near 7 Grand for these .. for what ... a pair of speakers that I can build for around $100. NOT A CHANCE SUNSHINE!!!
And for those boosting about the performance I say; you need to get out more! Don’t get me wrong, I own Peerless SLS subs and I’ve used and have designed speakers around various drivers including full-range drivers from the likes of Mark Audio, EJ Jordan Designs, Hybrid Audio, Fostex, and Fountek are nothing to write home about!

tvfreak40 posts12-06-2018 8:12pmYour comment is interesting, but I have one question: have you ever listened the boenicke speakers personally?
Yes!

I don’t tend to comment on things I either don’t know or haven’t experienced!

I have worked (in some cases extensively) with said drivers used by Beonicke, and I use the Peerless brand in my current set up and have used Peerless in my car audio setup in the past. Fountek full-range aren't all that! As for the SLS 5.25" driver, I have to admit it's a little beast.

However, paying 7 Large, for something the family cat to build for just over $100 is too hard for me to swallow! Praising Beonicke as 'the best thing since sliced bread' and paying near 7 Grand instead of a whisker over $100 for the pleasure forces me to conclude that some people on this and other forums need to get out more often!
I see. You have experience with some of the components of the speaker, but not with the final work.
You obviously misunderstand basic English, however giving that you think paying near $7,000 for a $100 is somehow value for money and indicative of a reflection on the laws of acoustics, I think I can readily dismiss your view on anything audio and acoustics based.
Take care!

I think you bring up a lot of stereotypical excuses for over-depicted and nominal performing products. Do I understand why you say the things you do? Sure!

However, it really doesn’t matter which way you slice it, what you are getting is a very average or poor sounding comprise, for a disgracefully high price, and that its obvious that people buy for emotional reasons rather than performance. Unfortunately for some .... acoustics don’t care about emotion ..or price ...or who’s got the highest post count!!!! For those who think it does, I wish them the best with their fallacy, and I part company with them, becasue they obviously understand very little.

I’m not here to boast about anything, and that also includes diy’ers, I’m simple here to give the immutable truth that most want to shy away from and spend ridiculous amounts of money trying to convince others of its non-existence.

When it comes to audio products it doesn’t matter where you are on budget, once the sound leaves the instrument/voice and hits the recording mic, everything from there on is interpretation and reproduction (for the most part a interpretation) ... and buying a $300,000 Wilson Wamm, or a Myriad of McIntosh amps simple won’t change that truth! So people who speak about ’Purity’ or ’ ... these speakers reproduce the signal honestly’ which insinuates that others don’t ... I LMAOL (Pardon the phrase) and dismiss them as the ... ’non-sense talkers’ (for want of a better phrase!!) they are.

The other immutable truth is that there are too many that have a conflict of interest, and that simply leads to untruths .. because they have no other goal than to sell. I include a huge group of reviewers in that category. Not saying all do that, but the vast majority do .. and people suck up this marketing nonsense and perpetuate that nonsense, and it filters down to the point where people like tvfreak are telling me that an approx $100 speakers actually sound like $7,000 products - facepalm

I think there are an awful lot of people that should re-read - The Emperor’s New Clothes - AND KEEP ON RE-READING IT ... until the message of the story sinks in!!!!! That should automatically lead to people shying away from such high-priced, fatuous products like those from Boenicke

As someone once said; The purchasing of such products and the pretentious nonsense they espouse around said products, simply serves to show how much they really don't know about acoustics.

Have a good one, I'm off to design an new pair of speakers which I know takes no time at all, and the reason I know that is becasue I've been doing it for nearly 40 years, and have assisted commercial companies in that time!

Speak to you soon :)

Unfortunately that post didn’t bring anything more than a repitition of the same disparaging tone as your previous post; you didn’t in any substantial way address the issues I raised.
Then I suggest you re-read, until you do! Your lack of comprehension is something I have no control over.

Take care
