I contacted audiogon last night and got a reply this morning and here is what she said in her reply regarding the change :
" Our Developers decided to change the interface of our Categories so it was more effective "
My reply to her , was that the Developers dont use the site as much as we do and why did they feel the need to change the way you view the categories??
I also asked if they could they change it back to the old way. She said in one of her replies if enough members complained then they could change it back to the old way.......and this is why I started this thread.
It would be nice if they (audiogon) would just leave this site alone ...and then they wonder why members look for other alternative places to sell their audio gear.
This is the most words I've ever seen you write at once, congrats!
Seriously though, I agree with you completely. When the change was first made, it was so off-putting that I stopped using the site altogether for about 4 months. I gradually inched my way back in, but I still like the old format better.
separate the dealers from the rest tired of looking at 80% dealer adds and a few other sellers left. hell limit them too, just try looking at the tube integrated pages its all one dealer/brand ok exaggeration, but really too much. suppose they pay the fees more reg.
I usually also check USaudiomart, canuk audiomart, uk audiomart group.
Instead of all the categories being at the top, they are all now on the left side of the page and it can be a little difficult when going to view the preamp and speaker category if your mouse happens to move.@mapman , the categories open on the left side, and the sub-categories are listed to the right. So you have to cursor down, then move right with your mouse.
It’s not a big deal, but I wish they would stop making tweaks to the website. The new Audiogon is finally up and running very well after a period of growing pains. I, for one, like this website very much.
I also like that the site is mobile friendly.
