Well now we have three people admitting to listening to Moxy.
Medic! Men down!
Live Chronicles ..... Hawkwind.

Seemed like a great idea when I bought it but the SQ is delightfully PAINFUL!

I have heard much better garage recordings.

And I paid $22 for it!!

Back to dollar bin diving!!!
Ok so I am going to have walk back my scathing comments above.
By end of side one the SQ had improved drastically so.....
It must be a near true live recording , warts and all and the sound guys were working their butts off to dial it in from the start.
Good job by them!
Good deal Greg.
I only bought 3 but I think they will be as described as it's not your typical discogs dealer episode.
Seeing as seller was/is a fellow audiophile I think we are safe.
They would all appear to have been play tested.
As long as not OVER play tested... Lol.
👍👍
Next up... Freaking outstanding!

Snow Live ... Spock's Beard.

Triple lp set in special White Snow vinyl.
SQ is off the charts.
Well worth every penny I spent on this!
Spirit.

I vaguely remember listening to Moxy back in the day but do not own anything.

Will load it into Qobuz later though....
Greg.
Seeing Schenker live in his heyday is still one of my more memorable concert experiences.

A real pity he went with Gary “ flat as a pancake “ Barden for vocals in the first incarnation of MSG.
Just read the biography of Moxy and it seems the first two albums are probably all that is worth listening to.

Bad timing and original vocalist problems scuppered them.

Now I know where I first heard of them.

Was in NME in England when they covered the up and coming wave of Canadian hard rockers in the mid 70,s.
Rush, Styx, Mahogany Rush, Moxy etc.
Greg
Fortunately he took Way with him to form MSG.
It was just Barden was real letdown.

Would have loved to have seen ufo themselves.
Well what a bummer!
Had bought a ticket to see Blue October at St.Augustine this Sunday.
Just found out they have cancelled ALL concerts in Jacksonville and St.Augustine until further notice.

WAH!

Beautiful Vision .... Van Morrison.

One of the album's I bought from molecules in motion.
Probably better than described.

And first run for my NOS Dynavector Karat 23RS Cart.
Ruby cantilever, tiny little stubby thing pretty hard to set up by eye!

But sounds glorious and it's not Broken in at all.
Slaw
Yea I was lucky to find this little "gem" on ebay of all places at a very fair price imho.
Complete in the box with all paperwork including original graph traces.
Glad to know it is liked by others as well.

Will be looking at your shelf pix next sir!
Thx Tomic.
Yes it is very impressive so far, I prefer it to my Koetsu ATM.

The English Settlement ... XTC
Careful .... The Motels.

The Spatial speakers should be here tomorrow.

Woohoo!
I did admire the quality of the weld's, very neat.
And looks like it would hold up the Forth Bridge.
Kudos Slaw!
Where's Geoff when you want him?
Be careful what you wish for.
Could end up like Beetlejuice, just don't say his name three times and we should be safe......
Hair metal time.

Forgot how good this one sounds.

Angel S/T.

Fresh from US cleaning.
Couple of freebies if anyone interested.

Morning Dance by Spyro Gyra.

The Sport of Kings .... Triumph.

Both what I would call VG+.
Which is probably EX by discogs sellers ratings or better.... Lol.

Both are just duplicate as I found when culling recently.

Just pm me if you want either or both.
👍👍
Try it Tomic and be sure to update us all!
😁😁

I have scooped the locking collar for the record rotation spindle out a few times when I have had a whoops.

Still got all my fingers.
Lots of great stuff being played tonight!
Usually switched to streaming by now but this Dynavector Karat has me hooked!
Will look up that Constellation label Boxer.
Living the Dream ..... Uriah Heep.

I love this album but this 200g pressing stinks! Horribly compressed and totally lacking in any life or dynamics.

☹️☹️
LMAO Tomic.

Actually thinking of using the Maggie's as bass absorption panels......

😁😁
Snow Live ..... Spock's Beard.

3 LP set LTD in white.

Now this is new vinyl that sounds sublime!

Or it's the new Spatial speakers.....
Anytime Spirit!

Just sitting here with big grin both for the actual music and the replay of it.

A friend on here coined it " Ubervana".

I concur.......
Spirit.
This was my post on the speakers thread on Spatial I created.

Sorry Ozzy.
Been sitting here and trying to stem the flow of drool.......

They arrived about lunch and quickly unpacked and setup in roughly same position as the Maggie's.

I turned both subs off before I played any music and that's the way it will stay, they have NO need of any bottom end reinforcement in my room.

Now the Maggie's may have just had the edge in very top end sparkle but as far as cohesion and body, the Spatials win hands down.

Instruments are very easy to pick out of the mix individually and the soundstage seems to extend way past the speakers.

I did tilt them down towards me slightly which got a little more top end sparkle so I need time to play with placement etc.

But overall very happy indeed.

The Spatial are very efficient but I guess compared to power hungry Maggie's just about most speakers are.... Lol.
About 10 less points on the volume pot so far.

Now tomorrow I am going to put my Ayre EX 8 back online instead of the BAT.
I only replaced it due to it not quite having enough steam to drive the Maggie's on all music at higher levels.
Apart from that I was very satisfied with the Ayre.

We will see.....
Boxer
Thanks!
Now I need celebrate with a visit to my LRS to stock up on essential items.

And no I don't mean toilet rolls and paper towels ( WTF is that all about anyway!).
