I like Rhythmic value proposition on paper based on what I read. WOuld tend to lean that way but disclaimer is I have not had the pleasure of hearing those yet.
I do business with a company who also does the distribution of
SVS. Personally I think they are not the best looking. But that
is not the biggest limitation. I have said it many times;
subwoofers is all about timing and speed. They do not use the
best material in response. I have listend a few times to them. I
could not sell them to my clients. Because they are not good
enough, it is that simple! These timing limitations still many
subwoofers face. People look at how big a speaker unit is and
how many WATTTTTTTs the amp is. I would advice; please use your
ears and focus on the level of integration with your speakers.
I'm happy with the psa, I did a side by side comparison with my rel t1, and the rel failed! the psa was deeper and fuller sounding. The rel would rattle with ht duty and the psa didn't break a sweat, and the same goes with music. speed timing? the psa integrated well with my main speakers. it's made well and made in the usa. just because it's not 2k and a big name yet doesn't mean its junk. as far as watts i don't buy into that shit either just like I don't buy into 10k speaker cables. the audio world is full of snake oil just like everything else. doe's a battery pack on your speaker cable improve sound? it must people fork out 2 t0 14k for this great tech. I think speed and timing is a matter of speaker placement and having it dialed in right.
I'm liking the PSA so much I think i'm gonna return it for it's big brother the xs30se which offers two 15" drivers if the xs15se can produce this much bass with one driver I can only imagine what two drivers can do. "just hope its fast enough".
im still not seeing a problem with timing and speed with the psa? it hangs with music like lamb of god i dont know how much faster you can get then that?
So as time went on and my main speakers changed the PSA didn't fit the bill anymore, with its 15 inch driver music was always a bit muddy. so I hooked my REL t1 back up and it was like magic! fast, tight and very musical but lacked weight. so I ordered two REL t9's which should fit the bill. after reading many articles about subs I think the majority of people agree, get two subs or get none. After all we don't buy one speaker, right?
I should have the REL t9's by Friday so I'll let you know my initial thoughts sun. should be awesome!
got the Rels hooked up and dialed in and WOW! what a difference running two subs instead of one makes. The REL's are fast, tight and very musical! and blend seamlessly with my speakers and with their piano black case very pretty to look at.
I didn't read whe whole thread but I also can not speak highly enough about Rythmik subs as an audiophile sub for music. They integrate with my Bryston SST2/ PMC 22 system perfectly. I use dual subs and they are both physically and tonally hidden. It just sounds like I have one speaker and that's exactly the way I like it. Others may provide more power for home theater use but if high quality music is your thing, Rythimic is an excellent sub. Of course they can shake the furniture for movie use as well but music is where they shine.
