what's your Desert Island Tube amp & speakers

hello all!

you're done. Cashing it all in and heading for the tropics and serenity, peace, and a lot of isolation for some lengthy uninterrupted listening sessions. to an island home you bought off Craig's list.

unlike gilligan's island, this island has electricity Don't ask, this is part of the dream sequence.

its all streaming from here on out with every available such service via Dish.

what tube amp and speakers did you have on board with you when you chose to leave the rat race behind?

and yes, you managed to bring along a few boxes of tubes so only a Sunami or head hunters could pose problems.

FYI its commonly known Head Hunters dig old school R&B so follow The Temps, EW&F, and aretha, etc., just in case.

as for High water, picking the right speakers might help you fix up a decent catamaran. Maybe.

I'll kick it off....

for the off the beaten path no fuss no muss rig.... black Ice (jolita/Fosgate) InT and a pair of the 10 inch single driver Cube speakers with all the fixin's.

or.....

If we’re going to have tube amps, we’re going to need to power them.  Just sayin.

My second choice can be the ARC D75 and DQ10 pairing. Again, I also have these on hand, so no need to dream!

dreaming is optional of course, but it seems only appropriate for this scenario that one brings along ONLY one setup.

Island living is often done minimalistically, and well secluded 'off the beaten path' islands have far fewer options such as space and or accomodationds.

even on well populated isles once beyond sight of the commercial areas they all suddenly become nothing more than remote wilderness.

this has been my EXP with many of the islands I've visited around the world. I suspect deserted or desert islands will have still fewer options for living and its varied accomodations.

on this particular isolated piece of dirt and jungle its population is now just, 'one'.

you. or so it seems.

Imagination and or whimsy seem in short supply of late.

this thread not unlike many others is sort of like making love. if you have to explain every aspect of it, a lot will be lost in translation and its primary thrust missed entirely.

I suppose too I could, or likely should have, asked for ANY 'destination;' amp type & speaker combo recommendations, though my mind was and is on glass oriented power lately.

that, and the fact I'm not aiming for perfection when posting online.

BTW, Mine would be an ARC Ref 75 and some Dalquist DQ-10’s or 20’s.

Cornscalas... now there's a hands on project for whiling away some island hours.

nice.

I’d bring a Cary 300SEI (with Western Electric NOS 300Bs and gold plated front panel to resist the salty atmosphere) and some Klipsch Cornwall IIIs.
