What is the best type of preamp for a class D amp?

If I were to buy a Spectron Musician III Mk2 which type of preamp would give the best results, within a reasonable budget. Would it be a conventional transistor preamp, or a tube preamp or a class D preamp? If there are any Spectron amp owners who could share their experiences, it would be appreciated.

Many far more technical than me say none yet can be called true hiend, as technology is not yet developed to allow the switching frequency of Class D to be high enough which then has to be filtered out at the end, and that filter not to have an audible/measureable effect on the upper mids/highs of the audio spectrum.
Interesting! I heard some has replaced their BIG BIG $$ amps with Mola Mola Kalugas and the Hypex Ncore NC1200 is a major break through in Class D.

I'm running all tubes and in the market for a SS amp to use in the hot humid summer months and can't believe I'm going to say this, including some Class D amps.

And they also need to be able to drive low impedance loads at high frequencies, which they have trouble with at the moment.

But they do make great bass amps.

So Soulution, Rowland ... are NOT true hiend? Then what is TRUE hiend?
