What is an integrated stereo tube amplifier?

On 'ebay' I won a Chinese made MKIII integrated Stereo tube amplifier containing (4) KT-88 output valves. This particular model is rated at 70 watts/channel. It has two separate sides of operation, and is of a 'class A' design. I noticed that on the from panel of this amp were two nobs...., one for the volume and one as a selector switch for CD, Tuner, Aux, etc.

Where are the nobs/controls for the bass, treble and balance??? Aren't these functions important??? Am I missing something???

I emailed the shipper with my concern, and he replied in translated Chinese into english, "This is a direct input design amplifier". "It does not need bass nor treble nobs"

Someone please help me to understand what I've just purchased? I thought that just because I own a Mc Intosh MC-275, a MC-225, a C-2200, and a C-32..., I knew everything. How do I control the balance, bass and treble with this type of unit?

I don't feel very smart right now.

Help please,

Traditional bass, treble and balance controls have been out of fashion on most serious preamps and integrateds for a number of years.
