What do you think of Nakamichi in general ?

I bought an SS3 wich is a small cute alarm clock/cd player for my parents at their 25th wedding anniversary..
they love it..and i do to!

It is really small..convenient..as so many features i am still finding some new stuff about them eheh :)
and + they sound great for a really really small ( sub 1" speakers and a 4 mini bass unit )

There is an optical output on this unit, md recorder output..gold plated rca input ..light sensor for dimming display..battery back up for interrupt electricity ...

neway what i wanna come to is that i find the overall build quality and ingeniosity rather exceptional!!
for an article that isn't too much overpriced ( paid 220$ brand new )

So what do you think of Nakamichi as a brand ?
Are there products good products ?

I was thinking of buying a SS11 for the living room for my parents..they aren't relaly audiphiles but they like great sounding..and + the nakamichi is all easy to operate cause it is all link within 1 controller ..

and they are really but really not good with electronics :p
hehe

I also am looking for a nakamichi cd player..MB8 or MB10 used..for myself..what do you think ? ( sub 300$ with 5 discs)

so ..that's it..
please jsut leave comments about how u feel in general about Nakamichi products..and ur experiences with them . :)

thank you!

Nakamichi's claim to fame was in tape decks; and some great ones at that. The Dragon still commands a defty price in the resell market. I do however think the good name is currently being used to sell a lot of mass market stuff that is no better or worse than anything at Best Buy or Circuit City.
How much do you want to spend for a CD player? One of the best bangs for your buck for a low cost brand new player is the $400 Cambridge Audio D500SE.
