What area or country do you live in ?

It's always interesting hearing members choices and opinions of equipment and set-ups on here. So many times, I have never even heard of equipment that is mentioned, only to find out that this person in living in another county from mine. I thought it would be interesting to see where we all live

I'll start

Southeastern Ohio, USA

Great thread nitrobob
Music and gear lovers all over the states and the world.
Gives me reason to think things aren’t quite as bad as they seem.  I toured the great Mayan ruins site of Tikal in Guatemala yesterday.   A bit of culture shock crept in, but our guide told us of his love of music and dancing, reminding me of the universal love and power of music.
The weather is never nasty in Northern Michigan. Just north of Petoskey. When off the grid, vinyl is the way to go!
SoCal, more specifically OC.

And minutes from the indespencible Excel Audio.
Sacramento CA.  I live 40 minutes drive from Pass Labs(I have Pass Amp and Preamp). I have watched them build the equipment and of course meet Nelson. I am also 20 minutes from MIT( all my cables are MIT). Love my city.
@cheeg try Orange County Audio Society
ring me up if you get down here Carlsbad way
For the Seattle area crowd, when the weather improves a bit I could host a smaller get together listening event....
send me a PM if interested and I will work something up
SoCal, Orange County, Irvine. 71 degrees today and sunny but damn it gets down to 47 at night!

I'm in the Navy. At the moment I'm based in Japan.

Japan has these interesting stores called "hard-off" which always seem to have rare and esoteric hi-fi equipment. I got a Technics SE-A3 amplifier and 3 way set of Goto Unit horn drivers for very reasonable prices.

Soon I'll be transferring to Norfolk VA and hopefully there will be some sort of audiophile community there I can get with.

Kalamazoo, Michigan
Original home of Gibson Guitars.......and lake-effect snow
Woodridge, Illinois just a bit west of Chicago.  Current temperature is 5 degrees Fahrenheit.
Listening to Trio Da Paz guitar through tube integrated so double toasty warm.
The Biggest Little City in the World!

Reno, NV (currently living right outside in Sparks, NV)

They have a saying here - "Reno is so close to hell, you can see Sparks!"

Home of ZERO brick’n mortar hi-fi shops, but we do have Reno-Hifi (Pass Labs dealer, and Mark is a great guy & family friend).

I am from Bolgheri, a beautiful medieval village in the heart of Tuscany, in Italy. Nowadays famous for the quality of red wines that is produced here
Now in Valencia, Spain. Way better than California! Formerly in Carlsbad, California
Washington, DC. Anyone in this area should visit the original DejaVu Audio. They now have locations in Florida and SoCAL.
@tomic601 We have a group that meets monthly at Desco Audio in Olympia to listen to music (usually the third Wednesday).  We meet for dinner nearby beforehand.  The person that started the group lives in Seattle, you might be able to car pool.  Look for Olympia Music Club group on Facebook.

Detroit MI
Colder than a witches you know what and 8” of the white stuff headed my way.
Geez all of you audiophools live all over the place.  Very Nice indeed.  For those of you in the NYC area I will be reaching out to you to invite you for a listen at a local dealer in northern New Jersey if you don't mind me doing so.  I will be launching my audio products then so you are all invited for a listen.

I am obviously in New Jersey.
@schubert, Robert Fulton's incredible Ark Records recordings were of local amateur Minneapolis choral groups and church organists. Sonically, they are amongst the best recordings I have ever heard, and are musically charming.
Western Loudoun County, Va. about 50 miles west of Wash, DC. Nice wineries and a growing list a good tasting craft breweries.
Upstate NY,  Within 3 hours from Boston, NYC, Montreal, Buffalo from each direction. Winters here last about 6 months.
Singapore. It’s hot and humid now. 3 months later it will still be hot and humid. 6 months later it will be the same. Ask me again in 9 months.
