What are you streaming tonight?

As we are in the modern age of music I thought I would see how this fares.
We have threads specific for cdp and tt so why not streaming as it is a modern media.
I don't care if you stream Tidal, Deezer, Spotify, Paradise Radio or any number of internet stations.
I would like you to share your tastes and method of streaming.

Young Marble Giants - Colossal Youth (40th Anniversary Edition)

Exactly the kind of stuff I was listening to in 1980.   How did I miss this?
Thanks, uberwaltz.   Not in the mood for head banging music right now, but will put Tesla on my list.
Silver Apples - S/T
Keith Jarrett - Koln Concert

What a day! My daughter-in-law has me come by to check out some turntables she found in a house she is clearing out. I assume it’s junk, but want to help her out so I stop on by. She brings out an early gray plinth Garrard 301, a Garrard Type A and a KLH Model 24. All have original tone arms and all mechanicals work. Wish I hadn’t given up vinyl recently.

oblgny, nice write-up!  I was tempted to try Tidal, but I am having so much fun with Qobuz on my PowerNode 2i I haven’t gotten around to it.  Think I’ll put Tidal off a bit longer.
I agree that Qobuz is not as comprehensive as I might like, but it does have more than enough for me to listen to in my lifetime.   I hope it’s selection will grow over time, but for now I can find MOST of what I want and so much new stuff...

I have not had drop-outs with my PowerNode 2i.  Might be your internet connection?
Definitely will follow up on Linda Perhacs. I do love her voice and songwriting.
Bela Flek - Throw Down Your Heart: The Complete Africa Sessions

Ken Micalleff posted a nice review of 15 jazz albums to listen during coronavirus.   Some good stuff, some stuff I’m unfamiliar with.  I’ll start with Cliff Jordan- Blowing In From Chicago.

Bob Dylan- Murder Most Foul
John Mellencamp - No Better Than This

Steve Guttenberg The Audiophiliac a couple of days ago had eight album recommendations for social distancing.   I’m trying to go through the list, starting with John Mellencamp.

William Shatner - The Blues

So many thoughts racing through my mind...

it’s called rubberneckin’, baby.  Don’t judge me.

Because...2020.

Can I filter out the vocals?  Might not sound half bad

A fine addition to Shatners catalog...

😳

Hhmmm...decided to step out of my comfort zone.  One of the advantages of streaming. Decided to try:

Nicolas Jaar - Cenizas   On Qobuz

Not my style at all.  To me it sounds like a cat dancing on Sergio Leone’s Moog.
Onward, through the fog!
Yma Sumac - Legend Of The Sun Virgin

Story has it that she was really a nice Jewish girl from Brooklyn names Amy Camus. Her agent changed her name and established a backstory to lend her a bit of exoticism.  Of course, that’s what our lizard alien overlords want us to think...
Bet you guys did hear his songs, but didn’t know he wrote them.  I just heard a duet with him and Emmylou Harris singing “Speed of the Sound of Loneliness”, one of my favorite Emmylou Harris songs.  Didn’t know he wrote it.
Nick Cave and the Bad Seed - Ghosteen

Qobuz

gliderman2m, couldn’t agree with you more.  i am really broadening my listening tastes, and even though I find stuff I definitely don’t like I find a lot of new music and artists I love.  With the help of this forum, of course.
Paul McCartney - McCartney III

Qobuz Hi-Res

Wow.  Just wow.  Was not expecting to like this album this much.
RIP John Prine.  He has a great song on his final album The Tree Of Forgiveness called “When I Get To Heaven”. The perfect send off.
“When I get to heaven, I'm gonna shake God's hand/
Thank him for more blessings than one man can stand/
Then I'm gonna get a guitar and start a rock 'n' roll band/
Check into a swell hotel; ain't the afterlife grand?/
And then I'm gonna get a cocktail: vodka and ginger ale/
Yeah, I'm gonna smoke a cigarette that's nine miles long/
I'm gonna kiss that pretty girl on the tilt-a-whirl/
'Cause this old man is goin' to town”
John Prine - John Prine
John Prine - Bruised Orange
Kate Tempest - The Book of Traps and Lessons

Decided to dip my ears into Pineapple Thief.  Listening to “Your Wilderness” on Qobuz Hi-Res right now.  Not bad.  Any favorite album recommendations?
Billy Joel - Cold Harbor Spring

Qobuz Hi-Res

i used to have the album version that was lacquer-mastered at the incorrect speed (about 8% faster).  This correct speed version is more pleasant.
@tomic601, Really enjoyed the new Strokes album myself.
Charlie Parker - Ornithology

Qobuz
Tom Misch - What Kinda Music.  Qobuz Hi-Res

Whim - Abuzz In The Abyss    Qobuz CD
Listening to Fetch The Boltcutters by Fiona Apple as well.   Can’t say I ever listened to her in the past.
I am kinda torn between both.   When I listen to one I usually follow right away with the other.
Tea for the Tillerman 50th anniversary release coming out soon.  Not a remastered release; Cat Stevens/Yusuf actually re-recorded the whole album with his son and as many of the original musicians he could get.
Dolly Parton - A Holly Dolly Christmas

Qobuz

A very nice Christmas album, almost a throwback to those albums of the 1950s and 1960s.  Some songs are  traditional, some new, some covers.  Only one complaint: she sang the wrong version of “All I Want For Christmas Is You”.
