Weird Band Names.

Hi I came up to the record "The Wonderful World of the 4-skins". Due to the band name 4-skins I had to remove one from the shelves of my record store. The song lyrics score pure violence. Wonder why they've been released?
That album would sound great through a "Schiit" Audio headphone amp :-)
4-Skins...from wiki "Many of their songs dealt with violent topics, but the band has claimed they were discussing the realities of inner city life, not promoting violence."
I don't know if these are weird enough for you but here are some that come to mind.

The Slits
Steel Panther
Love Spit Love
Cannibal Corpse
Big Bad Voodoo Daddy
The Eagles of Death Metal
I have a CD from the BASSHOLES. I giggle-snorted first time I saw it.
"Trampled by Turtles" is one of my favorite names
The Dead Kenny G's
Garage A Trois
Crack Sabbath

All featuring the saxophonist Skerik
Butthole Surfers was always my favorite weird band name.

Here is a link for more:
A few other choice punk and new wave band names...

-Mr. T Experience
-Burning Sensations
-Dead Milkmen
-Swingin' Udders

...and of course, Mighty Sphincter.
Synthfreek, publicity and reality are often two different things. They cheer with skinheads on their concerts and so cheer to violence in reality. Pure Nazis. They don't mix with normal population at all IMHO.
I used to see the Vomit Gobblers listed in the weekend section of the Washington Post when I was growing up always a fave of mine.
My favorite of late: Pussy Riot. Take that, Putin.
Also not sure if weird enough, but here goes some from my collection:
Atomic Rooster
Demolition Doll Rods
Flying Burrito Brothers
Fuzzy Duck
Goo Goo Dolls
Jody Grind
Popa Chubby
Sleepy LaBeef
Unholy Modal Rounders
"The The"?

"Oingo Boingo"?

"The Dead Kennedys"?

Gotta love the 80's.....
FAvorite weird album cover:

Loooking In by Savoy Brown
These Animated gif album covers are fun.
Toad the Wet Sprocket
The The
Wet Wet Wet

the list is endless...
Isn't the name Swingin' Utters ?
The Brian Jonestown Massacre

(also some of the best modern 60s psych music out there, i cannot recommend the releases "strung out in heaven" and "his satanic majesty's second request" enough.

(they also have a song called "i want to hold your other hand" on "aufheben"---anton newcombe was asked why he called the song that, and he said, well, i figured whoever john lennon wrote that song about was pretty special, and john wanted to hold her hand, but then her other hand was free, so i'd hold that and the three of us would go down the street hand in hand".----funny and great great music)
"Isn't the name Swingin' Utters?"

Oops, indeed it is. And I went to high school with one of those guys too...
