I did the same, but we only have ourselves to blame for the delay. Responding with "alacrity" undoubtedly confused the transition team.

Redglobe - a while back there were people asking for new features, like the ability to edit your posts in order to make corrections. The forum works well, but there are features that could be added. During those discussions, Audiogon indicated that they were starting a new development. The concern is that a re-write might disrupt the "simple and clear layout and easy to use navigation". That concern is based on the re-write of the main selling system, which had a lot of growing pains and which many still have issues with.
Mechans - The Hub is still there - just go to main Audiogon page and hit Blog. It looks nice, but there is almost no content there. Personally, I think from the start it was a waste of their time to develop it.
My guess is that they either do not have the code for this forum or that was written in such a way that is almost impossible to update, probably with outdated tools.
Personally, I would like to see the ability to quote other posts and the ability to edit my posts. But, those are hardly crucial.
I would let the site stay the way it is. I really doubt that the current format stops people from posting and a fancier forum probably will not draw more users. Plus, any real change will probably require more advertising. The transition period on the selling site was painful. I see no reason to go through that here.
