Wadia Remote Control

Does anyone know how to open the remote control. I have tried everything including a screwdriver. Any ideas

I can not get the system to work with my Onyka TX-SR550 and the last resort is to see if the battery in the remote is dead.

The remote has no range about 8' that is my issue with it even with new batteries.
