I didn't care for them in the showroom, but who knows? I love my VR-1s. I have run them with a Creek 5350 SE which is 80 W/ch and a Outlaw M200 at 200 W/ch. I haven't tried them with tubes, which I hear is even better. Sorry I didn't exactly answer your question. I have not heard them side-by-side.

I didn't like one without saying why doesn't really say anything at all.
