Vienna Acoustics and cable

What kind of cable are you using in your system? I went from Monster to Audioquest cv-4 to Audioquest Cobalt 2 speaker cable. The I/C's are currently Audioquest Vipers. Is anyone using silver cables with the Vienna line? I am considering some new speaker cables.

I have Analysis Plus "Oval 12" speaker cables hooked to my Arcam A85 integrated amp/ Vienna Acoustics "Hayden" speakers on sand filled HEAVY Orisis stands.

Even with extensive placement work I find the comb to have a VERY "boomie" result. I'm saving up to start shopping for new cables myself.

FYI my interconnects are the Harmonic Technology "Truth Link Silver". There was a IMPRESSIVE audible improvement INSTANTLY! THEY are keepers!
I have Beethovens and am using Kimber Monocle XL works great. Excellent balance of detail and warmth.
I will attempt making some silver I/C with parts from Michael Percy. If all goes well, speaker cables would be my next project.

You can get silver wire from michaelpercyaudio and make your own I/C's. Shouldn't be more than $20-$50 for a couple of sets.

I agree with your comment about Tweeter. The silver cable is a big ticket item, and I do not have the cash to throw away. When I called sumiko they recommended Kimber Monocle XL. I forgot to ask about any silver.

Tim, if you try the silver make sure you can get your money back. Caution: This is a generalization, but in my experiences silver cables sounded better with tubed electronics, while copper sounded better on solid state. I agree with your opinion that solid copper is better than stranded copper. Silver can sound a tad tizzy, or harsh with SS electronics. Copper seems to be 'warmer' IMHO. I've heard silver cables sound glorious with tubes though. I have all SS gear (Classe CDP-1, Classe CP-60, Threshold T-400) so the copper sounds better with my equipment. I'll have to get to Tweeter to check out the Strauss. The Tweeter's in my area don't know how to really set up these speakers for optimum performance though, if you ask me. Some of the set ups I've heard make me wonder how they sell any of these speakers.

Thanks for the comments. The amp. I am using is a EAD powermaster 1000. Both the amp. and speakers are very smooth. When I switched from braided copper to solid copper the result was very nice indeed. I am amazed how loud I can drive the Beethovens without any fatigue. I would like to hear what silver cable sounds like with the Vienna's.

I saw the new Strauss speakers a Tweeter. NICE
I am using Kimber 4TC speaker cable and a Cardas Cross IC with my Mozarts. I am thinking about switching to Cardas Cross speaker wire as I like my music on the warm side.
For my Vienna Acoustic Haydns, I am using Tara Labs Prism Nexa speaker cables and Nordost Blue Heaven interconnects from cd player to integrated amp. This has resulted in a very detailed yet smooth and well balanced sound. I experience absolutely no listening fatigue or listening frustration with this combination. The components are Arcam CD72 cdp and Arcam A75 integrated amp.
I have the Beethovens and I'm using Tara Labs Decade IC's (XLR) and Master Gen II speaker cable. I'm very happy with their performance. A good balnce between detail and musicality. You might also try Cardas cables, I liked them but they were a little too warm for me. I'm not a fan of Monster or Audioquest, although the AQ is better than the Monster, IMHO.
