Funny, I have been looking at doing the same thing for some time now... making a DIY version of a biased 1st-order crossover with ultimate transparency. I have come across this circuit (see item 5):

Don't know if it is similar though. If your running balanced interconnects, you need to have 2 mirrored circuits per channel, using components for 1/2 the amp impedance.
